So do you think teams will try harder if they think they could finish 2nd rather than 3rd?
How do you figure that one out?

That's exactly it, but they don't believe it.

Just like Fiorentina still have all their trophies and are credited with winning those even after having to start up a new club.

What do you care? Sure you don't think 'for one moment' that Rangers are going to the wall.

They dont actually have their titles - technically

The new club bought the rights to use the old name and shirt design

Whether Rangers can buy back those rights to your dead history wouldnt be a given.....Whytes probably already sold that

Yeah, cos teams stepped up in 9IAR eras blah blah blah...

...in a vastly different financial climate and when they were not as reliant on TV money.

These same teams who recently fought against SPL restructure because they needed the OF revenue.

I'm not so sure there will be any stepping up.

I don't but if they did they would still keep all their honours.

So teams don't try as much now because it's likely they'll only finish 3rd. Really? Is that what you are saying?

But it wasn't that exact club that won those titles, it was another Fiorentina but people still see it as the same club.

You have just admitted it wouldn't be the same club. Claim all you want but you would be reminded of it for the rest of time.

Technically it would be a new club but it would be the same club to everyone else.

2nd place (for the time being granted) offers more than 3rd - so yes they would try harder. There is more prize money. There are less qualification rounds in Europe - increasing chance of qualification. Again maybe.

So yes there is slightly more incentive.

Plus its one place off a trophy. only one club to overtake. Maybe they'll dare to dream. Right now they work hard to finish above Celtic or Rangers finishing above both is unlikely

No. It would be the same club to any 'Rangers' fan who would choose to delude himself, to everyone else it would be a new club.

Scottish football would die if Rangers went. The title race in Scotland is the only semi-interesting part of Scottish football.

But with you saying that suggests that these teams don't try as much at the minute.

There was me thinking every team went out to win and finish as high as they can in the league.

Obviously not though according to you.<doh>

Perhaps the mhanky tarrier ****s will stop dishing out the sectarian and racist chanting in and around the Nunnery IF the glorious Rangers go bust.

Doubt it though, they 'believe' in the sky wizard.

Make no mistake, if Rangers die, so does Scotchlandish football

the problem rangers have is that the type of animal that supports them is unlikely to have made any sort of significant money, ie craig whyte, so they have no one to save the day.

Celtic on the other hand have countless millionaires and billionaires who would be willing to help the club, because its scientific fact that catholics are a smarter, more evolved breed, its only natural that we would have made more money and would be more inclined to do good deeds with it.

The notion that Celtic as a club will not survive without rangers is quite possibly the most absurd thing I have ever heard, Im sure Willie Haughey and Dermot Desmond would agree <ok>
