1) Neil Lennon. 2) Roberto Di Matteo. 3) Rene Girard. You mean when he left them in 6th place? Yeah, right old mess.
1) MON - if we can get John Robertson back with him 2) Rene Girard - the Montpellier coach says he would consider top championship teams 3) Roberto Di Matteo - is still suprisingly out of work. TBH I would prefer NP staying another year - one and a half seasons and being only a penalty kick away from the playoff final isn't that bad tbh.
This is true Fossie. But the point is they now have a better manager than O'Neill. A manager that can take players and make them better. Villa will survive this season and will improve year on year with RELATIVELY little money spent. O'Neill was given a HUGE budget at Villa and failed to get them to where that budget should have enabled them to go, ie. top 4. MON's time has passed. If you get rid of Pearson you should look to up and coming coaches from the Championship like Poyet, Flitcroft and Powell.
Not sure MON ever had a budget bigger than Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, or Liverpool tbf - so actually 6th could be argued to be one place better than financial clout expectation ...
He will have had budget bigger than Arsenal, Liverpool and Spuz. A budget designed to get Villa the fourth Champions League spot.
TC we've done this ... it was Maggie O'Neill not Martin O'Neil ... and she turned you down in the end. Time to move on. Dean Saunders will be appointed before the end of the month.
Iain Dowie - Got Crystal Palace promoted Phil Brown - Minimum compo to Southend - Got us promoted Neil Warnock - Got a few promotions in his time - although perhaps his teams lack style (didn't think you'd care as its a results business)
Iain Dowie - There is a reason why no one has hired him in the past 5-6 years Phil Brown - We tried having a joker boss with Holloway, not again. Neil Warnock - He was in the frame for the job when Sven left but we made sure the owners knew how much of a **** he is.
Gus Poyet aint a bad shout - understand he declined to comment on where he would be next season. Someone else that has impressed me is Uwe Rossler (though no Championship experience - yet). Would take O'Neil in the flicker of an eye. Sorry Strov - I aint falling for it.
There will only be a few clubs that meet the FFP regulations when they kick in next season - and we are one of them
Don't worry, I'm sure our owners could just go out and buy some other team in a different country, then loan (sorry, "temporarily transfer") us a whole new team at no cost to us, and we're golden
