Nothing the Yanks like more than a bit of sabre rattling. Next stop will be to invade Iran for failing to allow inspection of their nuclear capabilities and for the threats posed to Israel. Also keep an eye out for Libya, Tunisia and Egypt after the Arab Spring anything could happen and these countries could be over run with militant Islamists. The crisis in Syria could also cross borders into other middle-eastern states and with the Jews sat right in the middle of it all threatening to nuke anyone to protect their homeland it is one giant sh1tstorm just waiting to happen. He can't. He'll be re-elected hopefully, but the Republicans will still have overall control of the House of Representatives, and will continue to obstruct every Democrat initiative. American politics is all about compromise and cutting deals, but for the last four years, the GOP has been in thrall to the Tea Party nutters who simply won't allow compromise.
