The senior league is dying partly because of the success of the Swans, with many players now watching instead of playing Ragged School a club famous throughout S West Wales is no more ,and they are jus one of any falling away recently , the players can't be bothered to turn up but also a factor to consider is the 24 /7 shopping culture which contributes to the lack of availability of players to play .Thats why it is more important than ever that a structured and experienced coaching facilities are available other wise where else will the players come from , we can't keep buying ,we need to develop our own . We now have 17 development centres because the club recognises the fact that local league football is diminishing rapidly and may never recover to the same previous levels . The Senior league was once one of the biggest amateur leagues in the UK , next season the 1st team leagues will be down to 3 with the standard of football falling further .

Non Premier clubs would be flourishing these days if the Premier League didn't steal their 50 % TV money when the Premier League started out ....criminal imo .
With the deal the Premier will sign next season , a % should be returned to the other 72 teams imo.

I agree we need to look look long term. However it is very dangerous to only invest heavily in the infustructure if there is no money for required by investment in the squad.

Depends on how it's invested in the squad valley , if we learned anything the last few seasons .
Michu and Chico 4 million .
Eder and Fernandez 12 million .

But we are not going to find a Michu for £2 million all the time. That was a one off imo.

Thats the point I'm trying to make , we can't keep buying some may say dross or over rated valued players when we have the potential now with better facilities and coaches working at a more professional standard to develop our own , that won't happen over night and to me which I find distasteful is when coaches (and this is true ) tell a group of players that that the Club are looking for another Bale ,which is a bit of a disappointment when you happen to be a decent centre half but then you remember the Club is a business and it's aim is to make money .Already letters have gone out from the Club to schools asking for day release from school and this is for U12's level so with the advent of Category 1 status being the next step for the Club then you can see why the money has been spent on the facilities .This way the kids play against the likes of Arsenal rather than Barnet which can only help develop them and the coaches .

Fed was outstanding last season. Would have walked into the Utd and Liverpool defence.

I used to play for Swansea Boys Club back in the 90's but they are no more. The Senior league used to be around 6 first team divisions and I think it was 7 reserve teams. The Sunday league used to be around 6 divisions. Unfortunately grass roots football is dying, until facilities change and getting kids out of bedrooms off Play stations and x boxes, their won't be any up and coming players.

It doesn't help that the transition from junior to senior league football is scarred by wanton violence and thugs who are allowed to dish out their weekly serving of physical and verbal abuse in the name of football.

The sale of Allen and Davis should have payed for a lot of infrastruture on it's own , and created a lot of interest in young locals to want to play imo
