21 man squad. Terry and Rooney don't give a ****, and one of them can't even play for the first 3 games. What a ****ing waste of 2 spots.

Birmingham keeper Jack Butland is among the list of five standby players, which also includes Manchester City winger Adam Johnson, Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge, Everton defender Phil Jagielka and Liverpool midfielder JordanHenderson.

Roy Hodgson has mistaken the Euros for the Olympics, including Ashley Young in the squad.

That cheat shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.

Can't believe Grant Holt isn't going either, he's had 3 fantastic seasons proving himself in league one, the championship and now the Premier League.

Also why no Michah Richards? A great player with pace and strength, good at going forward and proved himself in a title winning side.

Some of the decisions are almost as laughable as when Capello took SWP over Walcott.

I agree with most of this <ok>

Holt? Maybe to much to soon & Carroll is the safer choice (yep I'm with you on hes done nothing all season bar the last few games) I probably would have took Crouch over both of them as the big man choice, hes record for England is amazing.

Carroll will be a handfull though, if nothing else!

No-ones going to agree with any England squad, and I think Roy got more right than he got wrong. I disagree with 3 things; Terry shouldn't be in the squad, Richards should be in over Johnson and Adam Johnson should be in over Downing. Also who the **** is Jack Butland!!!????

Terry is a disgrace and he is living on reputation, Downing no idea why he has been picked and Caroll is big and tall and scores very few goals.

I would not have taken Terry, young Shawcross would have been my choice the tournament and for the future.

Terry is just an asshole, not particularly good and just mouths off at everyone.

The decision to leave Micah Richards out is just bizarre to say the least

Stewart Downing is just terribly overrated

Andy Carroll is just ****, many many players I woulda picked above him, even Lambert deserves it more than him and he wasn't even playing in the PL

All other issues that I have are debateable and not as big, for example I probably would have taken sturridge over defoe

I do like the decision to take Oxlade Chamberlain

Worst England squad going into a major tournament ever.

No time together, no real quality. To my mind the most skillful midfielder we have is Joe Cole (who Hodgson spent a fortune on as Liverpool manager).

With our two brightest prospects (Rodwell & Wilshere) injured and only decent holding player (Parker) doubtful I fear we'll be embarrassed at the Euros. According to the BeeB, Henderson is on standby for Parker!!!!!

Up front it's not much better, with Rooney suspended for 2 games it'll likely be Carroll and Defoe as the strike force.

So unless Roy has some mastermind scheme up his sleeve (an 8-1-1 formation and practice penalties 24/7) , I think at best it'll be a draw and two defeats and the 1st plane home.

Have to agree with that or at least in my lifetime as I can't speak for what I did not see.

I'm really losing faith in the english team, its been happening for a while now though

Last word to an unbiased <whistle> Jock?

This is the first tournament in living memory that the press have not fuelled a frenzy of expectation prior to a tournament. Your expectations are at an all time low. For once you might be in a position to be surprised by your progress in the tournament - rather than the usual expectation of winning it, followed by a massive depression.

The summer might be better than you think!

Andy Carroll's peaking at just the right time, has actually been picked on form.

Yeah I think Carroll could be a bit of a surprise package in the Euro this time. He is hitting his stride at entirely the wrong time for the season, but it might just pay off!

As for others, very happy about Oxlade-Chamberlain being picked as long as he actually gets played! If he isn't going to get a shout, Adam Johnson would have been a much better choice.

Also, not happy with John Terry, Stewart Downing and Glen Johnson choices. But never mind, as was mentioned further up this thread, expectations are so low I might actually be pleasantly surprised this year!
