If Harry takes the England job, who should we get in?

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Oct 11, 2011.

  1. Martin O'Neil?
    Martin Jol?

Presumably, the former is a "may be," and the latter is a "no"?

O'Neill's a no for me, the manner in which Villa collapsed a couple of seasons ago when they had top 4 practically secured in February has tainted my opinion of him. Also his interview manner is incredibly annoying, almost Wengeresque.

Would love to see Ledley as manager some day but feel he might be a little quiet for that sort of role...

  3. If we got Ledley as manager, we'd be able to call him King Ledley, to annoy the Mickey Mousers.

Let us hope we do not suffer the manager of the month award curse!

Whoops, must've had overwrite on, as I had O'Neill as a "Maybe" - although, as said, the way Villa switched off every April is a legitimate reason not to bring him in. As for Jol, no - he had his chance, and didn't make the most of it...although I have to say that if he was the #2 to someone, it could work out very well.

Also, no to Neil Lennon - given he's looking as if he might need to look for a new job by Easter...

I've also got to say, somehow this thread is damning Capello for his defensive tactics - even though his Milan sides of the late 80s/early 90s were anything but - yet also calling for Mourinho, whose Chelsea and Inter sides redefined catenaccio.
