That latin temperament...... some say its a good thing. The bloke can't hide his feelings, he'll ruffle feathers wherever he goes.
He might have been trigger happy first time round, but I think RA gave him a lot of chances in his 2nd spell, and was more lieniant than most chairmans would have been, he allowed it to get so bad that you where 17th with nearly half the season gone before he sacked him. This was with the current PL champions. Once we started winning titles under Fergie, even when we had a bad season it was 3rd and no worse. I wonder where Chelsea would have finished this season had Mourinho not been sacked. Your form was relegation form leading up to his sacking. Fergie knew how to manage a dressing room of ego's, as he made sure the big players in the dressing room always had great respect for him, and as soon as he suspected one was losing that respect and becoming a problem they'd be out the door. Ince, Beckham, Keane and Ruud Van Nistlerooy to name a few. Mourinho is such a lose cannon at times, that he can lose the respect of 4 or 5 big players in the dressing room in just a few weeks. Look what he did to the likes of Ramos, Casillas, Ronaldo and Pepe at Madrid or Hazard, Matic, Fabregas, Ivanovich and Terry at Chelsea. Fergie may have upset a few in his career, but they where usually players that he seen as dispensable at the time. Ince was getting to big for his boots, and he knew he had a young Scholes and Butt coming through. He got rid of Beckham because his celebrity lifestyle was affecting his desire on the pitch, RVN was targeted by Fergie because he'd had a few bust ups with a young Ronaldo, so Fergie sided with Ronaldo. Keane was 34 anyways and his talents where in decline, and he'd been verbally attacking other team mates on MUTV. So Fergie knew the time was right to fall out with Keane and move him on. Mourinho on the other hand attacks half the team, players that he needs on side and playing for him. That's why he's never shown any longevity at any club as he's a ticking time bomb waiting to self destruct.
As i said that latin temperament will ruffle feathers wherever he goes. The big players seem to have more power since Fergies been gone which is not a good thing in my book but is happening.I thought Fergie was rattled a few years back when Rooney was threatening to go.
gI have a feeling that, despite all his history, Jose would actually be a good fit. I think the culture at Chelsea almost encouraged him to become a bit of a prat - everyone there spends their day brown-nosing Abramogangsta, he runs the place like a dictatorship and any threat to his status as owner/most important guy at Chelsea - even from Jose, was met with Abramogansta encouraging dissent from the players. That whole episode, on and off the pitch was orchestrated from the top. Once he gets to our place (presuming he gets the job) I suspect he will be a completely different person. SAF will be on his case - the directors will be watching like a hawk and the GG's will shred him if he didn't tow the club line. Apart from the big stick, I actually think Jose would respect the institution and will surprise a great many folk. Bottom line - LvG is toast and there isn't anyone but Jose out there who can do the job.
