    Nope, utterly unselective.

I included all competitions and matches by both managers against Barca. Including Mourinho's side in 2004-06 when Chelsea were the richest side in Europe by miles and SAF's against Barca in 1991, the season before they became European champions. And also the 2012/13 season when Barca were beaten by Celtic in the CL and utterly hammered 7-0 by Bayern.

Messi played both legs in 07/08 btw, and was runner up WPOTY for the second year running, so good luck in trying to pass that off as a pre Messi era match <laugh>

He had 2 good seasons <laugh> Fella, Fergie hounded your manager out of the prem in his 3rd season. Go back and look at 2006-2007 for the definition of "miserable".

A bit like YOU hounded him out this season. Fergie is not considered the greatest ever manager in England by United fans, but by most. If Jose was so great he wouldnt have left his last job like a fcking criminal in hiding...

Barca finished 17 points behind Real 07/8, I can't recall another recent season when they were that poor

Ofcourse you can't, you've only been following football, chelsea, barca since 2004 <laugh>

Mind you, you've only been following City since November, so that above must feel like a lifetime :)

I burned my City top after our lads got mauled 5-1 at the Bridge. My mum got me a new one after the Kiev win though!

Will you borrow UIR's Van gaal underpants if you beat Liverpool!

There is no doubting that Mourinho is an outstanding defensive tactician, if you wanted any manager to organise a defensive unit up against a side like Barca then it would be Mourinho.

However there is a lot more to being a top manager than being good tactically, and Mourinho falls short on so many levels.

The most telling stat between Fergie and Mourinho is that Fergie managed for 30+ years and was never sacked, where as Mourinho in less than half that time has been sacked 3 times.

It's easy when you can flip from one team to another. But what happens if Chelsea suddenly have a proper resurgence? I guess he's praying they don't, hoping for an exit from the CL for starters.

How embarrassing a U turn would he have to make if City somehow conspired to **** it up against Kiev whilst Chelsea pulled it out of the fire against PSG?

The amount of rubber that would leave on the road would be epic.

You'd think so wouldn't you, but he has no shame <laugh> He disappeared for 3 months, was pilloried for it on virtually every board including his own... and then turns up bold as you like, brushes his lapels and carries on like nothing's happened.

I think for football fans like him it's standard stuff so he doesn't feel any shame. What do you think he does when he's in hiding? My guess is interior decorating and applying fake tan to the elderly.

I imagine him locked in a dark room, in just his underpants (a pair of white Y fronts) and a horsewhip, constantly slapping his back with it (a bit like the albino bloke from that Dan Brown film) as he purges himself of Chelsea and gets ready for his City days ahead.

But in his defence JM has worked for a trigger happy chairman.

He has but on both occasions with Chelsea, and I think it was also the case with Real, Jose made his position untenable by creating such a toxic atmosphere at the club that the chairman was left with two choices, either sack the manager or sack everybody else. Fergie knew how to maintain stability at United, even when he and the club were up against it. That's a key part of being a successful manager. It's what worries me most about Jose becoming United's manager.

Yeah I wouldn't hold Chelsea and Real Madrid against him, both clubs change managers more than most people change underpants
