Sorry but Drogba is 10x the bloke Suarez is, have a look at the Didier Drogba foundation and all the work Didier has done for his country (stopping a war etc etc) while Suarez bites/racially abuses people and handballs countrys out of the World Cup, not to mention ALSO dives .
Still can't justify the biting/racism/blatent cheating can you? Drogba founded his OWN charity because he is one of the biggest names in football, more people are going to know about it because it's named after him rather than a name nobody is going to bother with. It's called marketing son. You literally have no idea how much he's done do you?
If you look above, you will see I commented on the Drogba / Suarez diving issue. Comparing their 'outside of football' stuff is a little ridiculous when considering whether you would have a player in a team or not. Just my opinion of course
Agreed, which is why I included some of Suarez's on the field antics. Drogba may dive but so does Suarez... and then some!
Agreed. IMO, they are as bad as each other, there are many others like them too including Robben and Gerrard I just don't like diving.
Agreed, who does! But I wasn't even bringing that into consideration tbh, just the other things Suarez has done. Diving is rife in todays game and it will probably never be erradicated, Drogba is one of the main culprits and no Chelsea fan will deny it but Suarez is also another which is why I was confused as to why somebody said they wouldn't have him!
I think that quote is hilarious. He got sent off, and had to miss the semi-final. Sacrificing himself for the good of the team. There is no difference in that, to a player bringing down someone when they are last man to stop them going through to score. Both stopped a goal scoring chance, both would get red cards. Going back to the original point, he's too old now and I think wages would be way too high for someone we would only get 1 more decent season from/
There is something morally wrong when you stick up for that sort of ****e, handballing a ball off the line is far worse than bringing someone down in the area, anything could happen (they could miss-kick it for example) whereas the ball was 100% going into the net before Suarez saved it. It's unprofessional and outright cheating, end of story.
And Ghana didn't get a penalty to give them the chance to win it? Not denying it's not cheating, I'm saying he was rightly punished and made to miss 3 games for his country, include a world Cup semi final. Danny Simpson handled the ball on the line for Newcastle against us recently, did we get a penalty? No.. Did he get a red card? No... That is far worse. What about when Chelsea celebrated the "goal" v Spurs in FA Cup Semi. Is that ok? Are you disgraced by Mata, Terry, Lampard, Drogba and wish they would all leave the club for celebrating and not being honest when they knew damn right the ball hadn't crossed the road? No.. thought no. One rule for Suarez, one rule for everyone else.
I think the handball is blown out of proportion because of the stage it is on. Nobody ever condemned Phil Neville or Steven Taylor (? definitely a Newcastle player. Pretended to be shot in the chest?) for handball on the line during a Premier League game, they was both just as blatant and they both got sent off. The only difference is, the resulting penalties were scored.
100% agreed. If I was the manager and the ball was flying into the net I'd expect my player to sacrifice himself for the good of the team.
this is bollocks, always the victim! He may have been rightly punished but what about Ghana, they came off far worse than he did and they did absolutely nothing wrong. Of course Simpson was a cock for doing it and I'll slate him as much as Suarez on this particular issue but there are other things Suarez has done on the field too, not just cheat including racism and biting. Do you have stone cold proof Mata thought it didn't cross the line? The ITV images were bollocks, there are images that look like the ball did and Mata doesn't have the beauty of that, he has a split second view of what happened.
Ghana had a penalty to win the game in the last minute - they bottled it. You can tell it didn't cross the line. And what about Terry admitting he knew it didn't cross the line (as he was laying on the line) as Captain of the team shouldn't he have done the decent thing and said to the ref, look you've made a mistake it didn't cross the line. Would have gone up massively in my estimation. But what can you expect from someone that does the dirty on your team mate's mrs.
I wouldn't be taking the moral high ground on that Drogs. You know who will be hung out to dry when England get back from the Euro's.
