One thing Levy probably wishes he didn't do is decide to handle Michael Carrick's contract negotiations personally: he pissed off Carrick and his advisors with his heavy-handed negotiating, a bad choice of tactics given Carrick only had a year left on his deal and was an important part of the team, and at that point Man Utd knew they could weaken a potential threat to their position and set about their usual media campaign to make sure they did so.
