If Colo does leave, who would you make captain?

I've gone for Cabaye, because as I was doing the poll I was thinking "that would make him stay"... The irony .

Really though, Disney lover that I am, I would prefer Pardew to get the band and cut it into 11 pieces then stick it to all of the shirts... Everybody needs to be counted right now.

 

Cabaye I guess. I really cannot be sure.

Though part of me thinks it should be Shola since there is no chance of him ever leaving.

 

Looks like Cabaye has raced away with the vote, 60% to Saylor's 26.67%.

I thought Jonas might have figured more prominently with him already being vice captain.

Colo aside, there is no real "stand out" candidate amongst them.

 

Cabaye. Because he is at the heart of the team on the pitch, he knows the players well and I think he is probably well respected within the group. Also as Demba's Special Syrup points out it needs to be someone level headed and I think Cabaye probably meets that criteria!

It was weird, I walking home this evening thinking about this very issue and had concluded Cabaye before I even saw that almost everyone else had thought the same! In fact before I even saw that there was a poll!

No point giving it to Cabaye he will be gone within 18 months I'm sure of it as for Taylor he's injured all the time.

We may aswel just give it to Shola as weve given him just about everything else for **** all spanning over a decade.

 

I think we should sign a captain like figure and make him captain. Douglas would be great.

 

Yeah that would sit well with our current good players??? if your a selling club giving a captaincy is a waste of time as it's like putting a security tag on your player before you cash in.

 

The player who's right for the job should get it.

Well as far as know he is hot headed and to be honest we wont get him anyway because of our league position. Like I say being captain is a load of ****e anyway so just give to Shola as he'll be around forever.

Shola definitely fits the bill in terms of being level-headed, loyal and well-respected.

Could we possibly just sit him in a Captain's chair in the middle of the field and let him direct proceedings from there?
