    Totally agree.

I think that a lot of the problem he experienced at Liverpool was that they became fixated by the fact that he is good in the air and can hold a ball up. They decided that he was just someone to lump a ball at and were disappointed to find this didn't work out terribly well for them.

Carroll always created most havoc when he was travelling the speed of a deranged moose with the ball at his feet charging over and through whoever got in his way. That's how Nolan picked up his hatful of goals - - the defence was in such disarray after they'd ground Andy to a halt that there was plenty of space in the box even for someone with his legs.

Undoubtedly I watched the early games with interest as I've got loads of time for the lad. Its an easy mistake to make but at pro level you'd expect it to be remedied pretty quickly. You'd see Dalglish throwing his arms up and shouting for them to stop but Carragher and co just kept pinging the 60 yard Bramble balls. It was only when Gerrard got fit that you saw the real Carroll. He knew how to use him and understood the value of keeping it shorter with him. He's a big unit and wins an awful lot of dangerous free kicks by defenders just kicking him as they can't get past his frame to the ball. Gerrard then put pace on his crosses and dead balls which obviosuly he loved.

As you say he can travel with the ball too better than many realise and he has thunder in his left boot.

I see we finally have some official quotes on the subject too from Pards. Still no word from Liverpool but the Chronicle have Pards admitting that a bid has been lodged and he's left it with Mike. Fingers crossed.

Andy Carroll is still a young lad and a very raw player.

He is never going to be an Ibrammovic(spelt wrong) but shows alot about him to be another mark Hateley and Hodgson will see him as a big part of the England future.

Forget his head being turned by a stupid transfer fee and crazy wages as I said he is a young lad which one of us wouldnt have. If you get yer chance to take him back do it and forgive!

He's a professional footballer earning a lot of money. Even if he took a pay cut to come to his HOME TOWN club then he'd still be in a very priveleged position earning a lot of money. He certainly wouldn't deserve any respect for doing it but if it helped the team I would have no problem getting behind him.

This reminds me of how stunned Pardew appeared to be when Carroll was sold, I would say it was the last thing Pardew expected, I bet it took some time for the dust to settle behind the scenes.
