Many Derby fans consider the two games against us as freak results where their team put in a nigh perfect performance that has not been seen before or since. They don't play as well as that very often. Maybe the outcome against them will not as certain as many seem to think.

You don't know many Derby fans then as they all thought they were dog **** against us at the Kingston Communications Stadium and couldn't believe they'd come away with a 2-0 win.

What on Earth are you on about. You really are being a pedant now. If I said to you, at 0-0 in a game, "We need a goal here to win" would you turn back and say "What are you on about! We need 3! What happens if they score 2??" Of course not. It's apparent that when I say "We need a goal" we're going on the assumption that the other side doesn't turn around and score 10. Saying "We need them to drop 5 points" is quite clearly assuming everything else goes our way. I don't think it was a stretch to think that people would make that assumption. Since the maximum points we can get are 88, we can only afford for them to register another 4 points.

Yes I didn't spell everything out because I didn't think I was posting a message that would be read by children, instead read by people who actually had a clue. Mr Hatem then made some comment about Aussie Rules that showed he in fact did not have a clue.

Having someone then turn around and say "but if they drop 9 it's better for us!" just highlights the idiocy of this whole argument. Dropping 9 is of course bloody better than dropping 5 for our rivals, it really doesn't need to be stated. We need one goal to win the match, but of course if we go out and score 3 goals that's even better.

Last I'll say on it because I'm really getting fed up with the pedants on here picking apart posts for meanings that aren't there, and then accusing me of being the one to drag arguments out.
You are correct. Mr Hatem doesn't have a clue what you are on about most of the time.
Teams don't drop points, they gain them. We did not start the season with 138 points!
The Aussie Rules comment was based on what you posted a while ago, about you obtaining your knowledge of football, by applying your existing knowledge of Aussie Rules.

I never said that so no clue what you're on. Perhaps you mean my reference to Fifa when believing wingers were wide forwards. When a side plays a game and fails to win they are said to have "dropped points".

Carry on being petulant all you like.

Oh yes you did but I am not a two year old pedant so I won't search for the post but it was on that thread.

And yet you'll happily bring it up despite it having no basis in truth. In afl wingers play in midfield so I would not have suggested that afl was my basis for believing wingers were forwards. It also bears no relevance to the concept of teams dropping points, which you've apparently never heard of.

There is often reference to teams dropping points, but that is not what actually happens. Points are added not subtracted.

Brighton = 3 more points // total 87 points

A Charlton Win
H Derby Loss
A Boro Loss

Burnley = 2 more points // total 86 points

A Preston Loss
H QPR Draw
A Charlton Draw

Hull City win our remaining 4 games and finish the season with ""88 points"".

Fingers crossed and Lucky Heather required. But you just never know. <laugh>:emoticon-0105-wink:

And you,ll be in the Championship forever, forever, forever, forever.
Sheff Wed in play offs fancy your chances???

As you aren't mathematically promoted, if you **** this up how much of a tit will you feel? On a scale from 1 to Timmy Mallet?

Also, don't use a comma where an apostrophe goes; my year 1 pupils know correct punctuation for ****'s sake.

There's no accounting for taste, but desperate times and all that...

This picture reminds me how much I enjoy it when beautiful actresses are brave enough to make themselves look ugly for a film role, i.e Charlize Theron in Monster. (It is Kelly Brook, right?)

Are you a signwriter? Have you put together any signs for cafes in Hull?

We may be in the Championship forever. You may be in the PL for one season. All this doesn't alter the fact you are still as thick as pig ****.
