I'm surprised it's such a long time to be honest. I would have thought they could run a trial for something like this over a couple of days.
The BBC picture editor had fun with this one - a pic of Barton smirking and Stendel with a quizzical expression on his face! Joey Barton cleared of assaulting Daniel Stendel in stadium tunnel - BBC News
According to the link below it's 16 December - 10 days' time. Joey Barton denies assaulting his wife Georgia - BBC News He's spending more time in court this month than at The Quarters!
Think from what I read at the time they are still together but she will not testify against him, but the police are still proceeding with the case because of other witnesses,
I thought that Stendel was in Germany when JB allegedly assaulted his wife, otherwise they would not have postponed the trial he was found to be not guilty off
As this occurred when they delayed the just finished case at a BBQ in Wimbledon?? I wouldn't have thought Stendel would have been invited by JB
The trial off the alleged assault by JB on his wife Georgia McNeil by beating has been adjourned until March 18th 2022. The alleged assault took place at in Kew South London on June 2nd just days before the couples 2nd wedding anniversary
Yup - here's the story Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton walks free from court after assault charge dropped - Bristol Live (bristolpost.co.uk)
Something about this don't sit right with me. I just can't see why prosecutors would take it this far if there wasn't something concrete. They would have been convinced something had happened. To me Barton may be a lucky boy here. He needs to stay out of trouble. But to be fair to him, I did expect more issues than what he has given us so far.
