i think it should be pointed out that all this anger towards the youth and the 'they dont repsect there elders' malarky. Well the first person to be charged and plead guilty of looting is a 31 year old teacher - go figure!
Feel sorry for the recipents, my house was burgalled several years ago, and if I ever found out who did it, I'd certainly feel like introducing the moron to 'Mr 9MM'!

There's a lot of anger going around and it's probably pretty justified. But surely it's important to stay as calm as possible and not do or say anything which you may regret later.
Bringing the army out is a bad idea: it'll only encourage the rioters to take up firearms. That said, there is no justification or reasoning for what they're doing, so no other forms of restraint should be ruled out. I can understand why people are clammering for the water cannon and rubber bullets, but why don't we just let the police use their truncheons first? Get them to break the b*stards arms and legs then chuck them in jail, that should put a stop to things pretty quickly.
I had to drive into Leicester last night and the police were doing sweet FA; our country was a better place when they had the ability to physically teach people a lesson, rather than being forced to stand around and watch thuggery and vandalism like helpless spectators because the suits in Whitehall are terrified of the EU and their sodding human rights. Criminals should retain the right to life but forfeit all others: you riot and you should be fair game.

They should be rounded up, taken to the Ricoh, and made to watch Cov's home games for a whole season ... that feels right on so many different levels!
I'm staggered by how keen people seem to be to live in a police state. Shoot on sight, army on the streets...oh my good god!!!!!
Do not believe the Murdoch/ Tory media. Riots happen because something is wrong in society. Of course the Tories want you to believe it is 'mindless thugs' because it gets them off the hook for creating conditions in which people riot not just in the 80s but in 2011 too!!!
Of course, none of this provides an excuse for people to go out on the street and destroy people's jobs, homes and property. However people need to think a little bit more deeply about why kids all over the country would get involved in this. It is not just the usual suspects, it is kids who have no hope of furthering their lives through normal means because their education and neighbourhoods are being slashed to ensure that the bankers who created the problem in the first place can have their nice big bonuses back again.
'Great' Britain? This country is a disgrace.
"The cut backs has obviously caught up with us. "
Rubbish.
This is nothing to do with cuts. This is to do with a generation lost. A generation of feral youths with all manor of issues and little or no moral guidance committing wanton violence and robbery.
They do it because our society has been allowed to develop into a namby pamby nobody can be wrong, nobody can be told off. Human rights, mass immigration, political correctness, fatherless homes and so on.
Tottenham was the cork that popped. This has been simmering for a decade.
I say get the scum of the street. Send them on a plane into Afghanistan and let them survive with real tough men, our soldiers, for a week!!
