They're doing some works on the ground floor of my office which I assume is for the mission to get more people into the office despite having all been made hybrid workers during covid. Anywho the incompetence of the builders managed to trick the intruder alarm on the 2nd floor where I work, somehow not the others. Our lead fire warden treated it as a standard fire drill so off we all get, following the procedures ready to head outside in the cold and rain. As I was the first person to reach the reception before exiting and having noticed nobody particularly moving about on the other floors, I asked the question should we be having a drill? No not today, it's just the intruder alarm. Ok well its been going off like no tomorrow on the second floor. Then one of the imbeciles that was doing the works, laughed oh was that us? He then faffs about being unable to turn it off. 15 minutes later the thing is still going off, giving me the largest of headaches for which I had to send a younger colleague off to do her best "Karen" impression to kick the guy up the backside. Fortunately she can be quite convincing and it worked, but how idiotic can you be to trip an intruder alarm and then do nothing to resolve it and turn it off?
