GRB have you ever been to Haswell?
There's a plaque up dedicated to Tom Simpson (the cyclist).
Sorry just a random thought as I'd never seen anything like it as it's sort of like a plaque and tourist information board all wrapped up into one!

Bob Paisley's grand daughter graduated from Durhan Uni the same time as my nephew and we all had a meal and drink together later. She was a really nice girl and did her granpa proud.

Was really surprised yesterday to hear that some of the older members on the coach were into all kinds of music and went to a lot of the gigs by bands you wouldn't expect them to be interested in.

What about Stan Laurel? He was raised in your home town and was possibly one of the best comedians of all time?! Plus i'm sure he has a statue in Bishop somewhere too!

P.s. If you don;t know who who he, it's Laurel from Laurel and Hardy

You could do a horror story about Sunderland and its natives, or something about the National Glass Museum. Or a descriptive poem about the patterns that form in the fallout that hovers over Teeside, or the eerie sight of thousands of empty red seats, comparing it to scenes expected to immediately follow the apocalypse. Possibilities are endless.
