Another jaw dropping completely unexpected moment from a British TV series. More light hearted but still worthy of a mention. It happened in "Hustle", the series about a group of con artists. In this particular episode the crew attempt to set up a harsh sweatshop owner, by getting him to invest in a non-existent Bollywood film. And then in the middle of all this they suddenly all break into a Bollywood song and dance number: Which is unexpected to say the least because this is not a song and dance series, it’s a drama. And they don’t do anything remotely like that in any other episode! If you watch the clip you may get the vibe that a Bollywood sequence is about to start, but I assure you that is not what I was expecting. Lot of fun though. Plus the series had the legend Robert Vaughan in it, so it's got to be good.
What a pretentious comment. Just what I was going to say. (I know it because I bought the OGWT album and it begins with this, and fades into "Keep Yourself Alive" by Queen.) And the theme to Catweazle is called "Busy Boy".
Some 70s iconic kiddie stuff (this week we have an entry from remembercolinlee of London, who has made a rather pretty picture from pee socks ) ...
From the album "trip to the country " I saw this album at a record fair the other week going for £ 60.00
My kids loved this series, it had some great characters Snizz and Fondue, Prometheus and Bob and the Stinky Diver , most of it went way over their heads but I enjoyed it
And now an opportunity to mix the TV & Music threads!! But in my opinion an 'iconic' TOTP' moment as in Jan 82, The Jam become the first band to play both sides of a double 'A' sided single since The Beatles were allowed to play Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane in 1967, but that was the only Beatles single after Please Please Me not to top the charts famously Engelbert Humperdink and Please Release Me outsold them making The Jam the only band at that point to play both sides of a number 1 single. Others may have followed I don't honesty know!
1. Of all the genre zeitgeist parodies that they did, Lufthansa terminal was the most accurate. Here is : - Metal - Punk (beyond that time) - 2 Tone 2, This article is about iconic, so of course the only answer can ever be ,,,
His first series was sensational, up there with Billy Connolly. Subsequent series were weak and more aimed at family audiences. I think that is why he faded away.
