According to this Reading first had hoops in 1871-72 http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Reading/Reading.htm Whereas we had them in 1892 http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Queens_Park_Rangers/Queens_Park_Rangers.htm So we are the fake hoops, especially as ours were green. Sorry.
Give me 5 minutes and I will knock up one of those kits in Paint and post our kit 10 years before. That site proves nothing, besides back in those days they were limited on kit designs so just about every other club played in hoops or stripes. The fact is we have worn them longer and are known for the hoops not Reading.
Have to say it's all rather silly this hoop thing between us and Reading. They wear hoops so what? so do Morton, so do Celtic.....these make us stand out from the ordinary afterall think of all those sides who play in strips, far too many to name and they all look the same, apart from different colours obviously We should be pleased to be a small group of clubs that are different, besides we're the only side that has hoops in our change strip, so that gives us one-upmanship on the rest.......
To be fair I only think about Reading when someone on here has a pop at them, and have only been there a couple of times in 55 years, so go with whatever makes you happy. I rather like our original light blue dark blue halves though.
I have had an ongoing ding dong with Reading when a few of them gave us stick many years ago. Never forget how vocal they were about 'Faurligate' wanting a points deduction. TBH I just have a bit of fun with them because they are really Chelsea fans.
We enforced the hoops as part of our identity it's really that simple to me I made it very clear to the club that we also did this with our second strip and going forward both kits need to be re restablished IMO IMO all white for a third strip Stick to this and there wouldn't even be a question to answer or discuss IMO ... Globally we would own the hoops based in the worlds most famous city in the country that gave the world football There will always be variations and trends but we are not maroon or orange with a blue triangle You build brands and traditions on sound foundations IMO I really hope the days of duck egg will disappear long term
If I was a Reading fan.... Actually, I would never support that plastic cringe worthy shirt stealing chant copying group of two team supporting freaks! They have no soul, which is so important when supporting a football club.
