Many people in Hull do. And Farsley Celtic's remnants have formed a phoenix club called Farsley AFC who are now plying their trade in some Evo Stik division or other. Went there for a pre-season friendly and they still have a couple of hundred who go to watch them.
Glad the OP enjoyed his trip to Hull, good to hear an outsider from the city enjoying their time there. Doesn't deserve the bad press it gets sometimes.
Just to see the historic side of Hull was magic,tell you what though i was shocked with the amount of east europeans around,i thought is was bad in Scarboro!
