I tend to agree. It may well spur him on to start playing well.

Good to see you bigging up London. You're normally having a go at everything British.

He has been woeful yes, but I cant see your logic in booing your own captain when your in the midst of a relegation battle. Bizarre behavior.

Sorry he needed that punishment and I won't boo him next match lets see how he responses . It's been coming and sorry but he has to earn his wages ... He will be doing a bit of soul searching at last and that can't be a bad thing ... It simply had to happen

The UK is still in deep trouble my friend
A football match won't change that

I'm more concerned about the impact the booing may have on the rest of the players. They may worry that the fans are fickle.
By the way Frank, that post could have been written by TBGWTDT. Moved from purgatory to limbo?

I was surprised by the booing. Good that Joey realised that he'd had a bad game but what about all the others Mr Barton? It wasn't just his bad passing, which was obvious, on a couple of occasions he wasn't tracking back when he lost the ball, once to Downing if I recall correctly. This is also one of his regular traits, I'm afraid. And don't get me started on the set pieces.....

Barton is part of the problem for QPR - overpaid and not scared to voice his displeasure with teammates in the press or on twitter. He needs to just concentrate on playing football, especially when he is out of form. I'm not a fan of Hughes either (for obv reasons) but well done tonight!

Barton started off, like the rest of the team, very poorly tonight. It seemed that the fans aggravation from the poor start was aimed squarely at Barton, and while the team's performance improved, Barton got worse. By the time he was substituted he'd been reduced to making only the simplest passes he could. His confidence looked shot to pieces.

He took a free kick not long before being substituted that was a pretty average free kick, but was greeted with the reception from the crowd as if he'd scored an own goal. The worse he played, the more he was booed and the more he was booed the worse he played.
I'm suprised he wasn't subbed earlier.

Also, interesting to note that his performance was not touched upon by MOTD.

Newcastle fans said that was his best position, he was a disgrace. It was a shame he wasnt injured for the season when he went down. I wasnt the only one hoping that.

Perhaps now he should stop going on about being an England regular (he wouldnt get in the womens team if he had a vag) and stop berating Taarabt every time he misplaces a pass.

Fans that want QPR to stay up and are seeing us get relegated by the continued decision to play him every week.

Whats more important, Bartons feelings or us staying up?

Funny how we also scored from a set piece now he wasnt taking them.

Barton shouldn't wear a Rangers shirt ever again as far as i'm concerned. I didn't boo him tonight/last night, as I would never boo a Rangers player ever. But he is not one of us. Bye bye Joey. Your not fit for pupose I'm afraid.

Barton's problem is that he is very, very vocal. People read the rhetoric he spouts on twitter about everyone having to pull together and work hard and then they watch him play badly.

They see him have a go at Adel, get sent off, lose the ball and not back track, etc. Then read more crap on twitter.

They hear how much money he is on and start questioning why MH continually plays him and SWP.

They see their team destined for relegation, go two-nil down and then suddenly .......

    He's taken off.

These are pent up emotions just waiting to burst.

If he could keep his trap shut and put his energy into showing why he is worth such a large pay packet then people would not react in such a vocal way.

As i said before Barton should put on the pitch for hard tackling ,winning the balll back to our side and to harrash or annoy opposite players. Thats where he is good not as a playmaker and a setpiece expert.

Congrats booers the point has been made and he has accepted a poor game. I will never boo but each to their own. The test for me is what YOU do next time he plays. Does he get booed or allowed to make amends and play. For the sake of the club and our survival I hope it's the latter or do players never get a chance to put things right?

Booing Barton seemed to contribute to his passing getting worse - booing and jeering is not not productive for anyone in the squad or the coaching staff, or the owners!.

I did notice that both Barton and Bothroyd were up with the rest of the bench and coaches celebrating massively when the third goal went in. Good for them and team spirit, both have plenty to be disappointed about. Hopefully this result marks a turnaround for everyone.
