Indeed Wize. Shocking performance, but we finally see the other side of the coin by winning instead of playing well and losing by the odd goal. After 30 minutes I called for McInnes to change the formation as the issues were plain to see - being overrun in midfield and if it wasn't for Milwall's poor finishing we could have been well on our way to a defeat by halftime. Give him credit, he got the hairdryer out and for a while it seemed to work. It was only after 75 minutes and Pitman's sub (he tried way too hard, the poor lad) that we went back to a 4-5-1 and we scored in added time.
Other thoughts...
My cousin tried to tell me it was because Millwall kept him quiet, but I disagree. What was up with Adomah? I don't expect a sparkling performance every game, but I've seen better body language from someone about to be put before a firing squad. Bolasie did a better impersonation of him when he came on.
Let this be the final nail in the coffin of Marv naysayers. As soon as he went off the 4-4-2 formation became suicidal.
Cisse and Nyatanga had shockers, but Pearson, Kilkenny, Skuse and, most of all, James played somewhat well. The incredible missed opportunity for Millwall in the final seconds summed up the game perfectly.
