Just jumped in with the rest of the season vote.

I guess this proves that knee jerking is old hat and our manager has our support.

    Believe people.

He has our support no doubt, but the reason to me is something else. It is because I feel that a team needs stability, not because Pardew is a magnificent manager. Furthermore in his case, he does have two headcases above him making ****e decisions about budgets and transfers, which results in him having to play ****e players like Willo, Simmo and Sammy.

I'm not sure if given the availability of our full 11 he would abandon the long ball, but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, which is to say he would abandon it. But his setpieces speak for himself, and No, getting the ball to Willo is NEVER a good set piece. His ****e substitutions add on to the long list of flaws we've seen this season but in no way should we sack him, unless a better proven manager is available, one which can turn our season around.

Lee Clark would do for me 100%

he knows the club, the fans and can manage - he also has a good personalilty his sides play football or try to the right way. I think he's the man for us in the future, however we have to put up with Pardew for now.

Clark knows the premier league also despite not managing at a high level he had mangerial experience and to be honest Pardew only had like 1 good season ad one failed prem season before coming here so that's not an issue for me.

Clark and Carver stays two geordies wey aye man.

Agree. Can't see any 'available' managers who would want / be good enough for the NUFC job.

    Pep? Joking of course.

Well it's all about opinions but I love him and he knows the club. I'd love him to be manager one day . He's got more knowledge of the modern game than Pardew and he has personalty players want to play for.

I'm sick of having ****ty **** managers that try and play oldsschool here we need to progress in our style of play like every other club these days.

    Look at Swansea

Younger managers are more knowledgeable about the modern game on my opinion Clark would have the clubs interest at heart also and wouldn't cost and would want the job. We aint going to get Mourinho and from the selction we could get like Megson etc I'd take Clark with a smile.

Lets not forget he would still have Carver at his side if he decided so which I bet he would and also Carr.

Pardew has **** all to do with player signings and he can't even pick them in the right positions.

I seriously think sacking a manager in January and hiring an un proven young guy, partly for nostalgia reasons, is suicide. In fact, Shearer anyone?

I'm not saying now but maybe on the summer whether we stay up or go down.

I've had enough of Pardew as he doesn't sign the players it's out of his hands - he can't even pick them in their best positions or keep players happy of the pitch.

In my eyes sacking a manager is a gamble right now, however when he'c ocming out saying were playing well, playing players out of position, not making good substitutions all season, the team hasn't scored at set peice all season for me keeping him is suicide, however that's just my opinion and I respect yours.

    Spot on!

We have a team with Coloccini, Tim Krul, Tiote, Marv, Cisse, Santon, Ben Arfa, Cabaye (although they have been injured) and we are scrapping for survival??

You put a top class manager in charge of those players and tell me they would be 16th, 2 points above the relegation zone after 21 (I think?) games...

I would only do it if we had our eye on someone who really could turn it around - not, as you say, some unproven manager or caretaker. Difficult.

Major problem with Lee Clark is that he's a terrible manager. Spends loads and is mega negative. Yes he loves the club, but it doesn't take away from the fact he's not very good.

This. I voted to the end of the season for two reason!

1.) He got us in this **** so let him get us out of it and if we do go down.....(onto 2)
2.) He is then solely to blame for getting us relegated...

If we stay up then we have an issue.

An interesting stat on pardew's CV. Every management job hes had hes done well in season one and **** thereafter.

I'm going for the rest of the season...

Looking back on previous manager sackings:

Sir Bobby had an incredible few seasons, then a shakey start, we were in 6th I believe - sacked and replaced by Sounness - ended up worse.
Roeder had a great end to the season, got us into Europe and lead us to the QF as well as being mid table despite injuries - sacked and replaced by Fat Sam - ended up worse.
Hughton - had a great season, led us out of the Championship and had us mid-table despite massive lack of spending - sacked and replaced by Pardew - initially better but now starting to falter.

We have a tendency as football fans to allow our expectations to rise after one good season or one good period. Granted we're on a ****e run, but we've had such god awful injuries, not many managers could've done that much better. Yes Pardews constant 'we need new signings' (player returns from injury) 'its like a new signing' comments are becoming brutally tedious, but what else can he say? Yes his tactics are looking redundant, but our players are low on confidence, some are low on ability, messing around with the ball at the back invites mistakes (just look at Cuellar/Ivanovich - both better ball players than Williamson). Yes his comments regarding the younger players are demoralising - but they HAVE been ****e, they do need some tough love, they do need to work harder, to concentrate more!

I'm not happy with Pardew at hte minute, but I'm not happy with the idea of sacking him and risk upsetting an already unsteady apple cart!

If we did get rid, there's actually some interesting and, in my opinion, viable options out there, and I'm not just talking the media's isolated searching technique.

If we are supposed to be doing Arsenal-lite, Christian Gourcuff + Marco Van Basten are two people who not only hump Pardew on paper, their style of play and expertise make him look like some non-league Charlie <ok>

I despair of people thinking Martinez is the only option just because he manages in this country and Sky tip him for every job! The two I've mentioned cannot be on that much where they are, you'd enjoy their brand of football a heck of a lot more, and their overseas pedigree should fit in superbly with what we're supposed to be trying to do. But no, if we sack Pardew we must get Kinnear, Shearer, or someone else English and equally useless... <doh> Stupid board.

Rest of the season minimum, but I'd give him longer unless there are no signs of improvement, patience is key
