let him take his time if he signs he signs if he doesn't he doesn't but if he does sign it will be because he wants to, but i also agree that he needs to put his big boy trousers on and make a decision and sharpish

Dai - his employers, Blackpool, agreed to sell to us. That's part of the deal, is it not?

But unless you have an inside track then you know no more than us.

    His options are running out.

The 12 months remaining on his contract means Blackpool want to get rid and it seems we are the only serious bidder.

Apart from joining us either he hopes there will be a last minute bid from a bigger club or hopes for the same in the January transfer window, or remains at Blackpool and moves on a free at this time next year. Blackpool wouldn't fancy any delay because his price will drop the nearer we get to the contract expiry date.

Ince clearly is not keen on joining us but we are possibly the least worst of his options. My only hope is that if a decision is not made by Friday we pull the plug and look elsewhere.

I find it really funny that people talk about him keeping us waiting and us 'moving on' as if we make an offer for 1 player and everything to do with transfers stops until we get a yes or no.
It is nonsense. I am quite sure Malky and his team are busy looking at, and sounding out, other players all the time, both in Ince's playing position and in the other positions for the team.

The way Malky works we could have a player announcement tomorrow, everyone will expect it to be Ince and it will be two players no one has mentioned, or we thought were gone.

Malky is quite clever in his transfer dealing and I'm sure he'll find what he needs with planning and patience.
    Keep The Faith.

Very true Xsnaggs. It is just frustrating that his club has accepted the offer for the player but he is hanging us out to dry for his decision - clearly hoping for an offer from a bigger club. I guess Blackpool made our offer public for the same reason.

As we well know and you cover, this is not the way Malky normally does business - he keeps it private until the deal is done or nearly there as with Cornelius when all that was needed was his medical before signing. I suspect Malky will be as frustrated (probably more so) than us at all this prevarication but he is only hanging in there up to a point as he highly rates the player.

You are right though - be patient and ktf!!!

Ince was only discussing terms on Monday so it hasn't been too long. How long do folk usually think over a new job opportunity? The last time I changed job I took a month and a half to sign the contract.

Of course everything doesn't stop on transfers until Ince makes up his mind but the point is how long must we wait for a decision? Ince's prevarication must slow down the whole process of team strengthening by affecting MM's ability to sign other players. It might also affect the sale/loaning out of some of our existing players who might not be up to Premiership football such as Cowie, Lappin or Conway for example.

We can of course identify candidates and make enquiries but until Ince decides to come, go elsewhere or stay at Blackpool MM's hands are tied as far as definitive signings and sales are concerned. Meanwhile the players are back in training and pre season games are on the horizon with only one signing made.

I hope MM has imposed the Friday deadline. There is only so long this situation can remain in limbo. Friday is a sensible deadline....................and I hope Ince decides to come.

According to the BBC, we should know tomorrow if he is going to join us or not.

12.20 no answer on 'decision day'. TBH I was expecting a quick 'no' this morning.

Do you think they're still trying to settle the details?

Even if the answer is "Yes" we may not hear anything from the club. We might hear something from Ince's side so as to give any last minute bidders a final opportunity to make their move.

The details have been settled and accepted by both sides as far as I know but he has yet to have a medical which presumably will be on Monday.

Of course the answer could be "No" in which case a statement might be released later today by both CCFC and Ince.

I'm not suprised but I don't believe he ever intended to join us.

Didn't one of our ITK mates down the M4 mention Mcmanaman was available for similar money?

Not too bothered, personally thought £8 million was too much for him anyway.

I'll only know how I actually feel about this one once I know who we're signing instead.

I told you a few days ago that he said he did not want to go to cardiff lads. £8 million is a lot of money on an unproven player. Im not saying he wont be any good but would i risk £8 million to find out...It was all over twitter that he did not fancy cardiff...

Not overly dissapointed at this news, I think we all agreed 8 million was over the top. The Blackpool chairman must be quietly fuming as he will possible lose Ince on a Bosman when his contract is up. Not sure where this leaves Liverpool as they appear not to have taken up the option. One thing is for sure, he'll get plenty of first team footy in the Championship. I know there's plenty of time before the window closes, but remember not too many clubs bid for him.

I'm not too bothered to be truthful, I thought Eagles was a better player than him last season but maybe that's why I'm a fan and Malky is a manager.
