Bob - it's quite pathetic over there how some posters will jump on visitors because of the club they support. Stumpy - that's another assumption mate. Fact is we'll never know about how it would have panned out for you with out Michu last year. What we do know is for that last 15 games or so when he had problems scoring, you had no one else who could do it. That's the point of the discussion - where was this "sufficient talent in our squad" then?
Sparky can I ask do you really give a ****? So a thread is closed, it's yours so what ? A number of mine were closed as well. If it bothers you that much, a suggestion don't go there, simple solution.
Now if Stumpy's comments or similar were made on their board in relation to our team it would be regarded as a WUM with the usual outcry. Okay maybe there was an element of suspicion as to Stumpy's motives at first but in fairness he has made some good points which are worthy of debate. And that, my friends, is surely what this forum is about - putting forward a point or points of view, which might run against the grain of the board, but if reasonably made, as his were (as were Sparkey's over there), then accepted and considered responses should be made. Not ridiculed, decried and eventually closed down as the usual suspects can't stand any comments that run against their own opinions. And they call us arrogant, lol!!!! Stumpy, yes it will be interesting to see who you sign. I'm sure Laudrup has his man lined up and provided you adequately replace any of your main players who leave (Ashley Williams being a possible) then you have every chance of further consolidating and even improving. As for us, we know we need more players of better quality and we are going into the unknown. It is so important we make a reasonable start and don't end up at the bottom of the pile after the first 5 or 6 games. Whether we have an out and out prolific goalscorer or share them around again doesn't matter to me. We already have Maynard and Campbell who know where the back of the net is. At present we have to work on the basis that their abilities will stand them and us in good stead in the Prem. All we know is whatever happens it will be a new experience and exciting. I for one can't wait.
Jager - the answer to your first question is yes. Not in the way I would feel about my own club but I'm interested in football in general. As for the other elements of your comment - is that your answer to free speech on the forums?
No it's my answer to you as you are the one complaining, I told you what I thought of your thread previously and can't be bothered to find the quote. But as it wasn't about football and just a condescending thread basically asking the swans fans to behave, I find your input there not conducive to debate anything football related.
Your opinions are as valid as anyone elses as to motives for posting, but I did not start that thread with any intention of being condescending towards Swansea fans. It was posted in an attempt to cut out the crap that flies between us from both sides. You should be grateful for the controlled replies you and your Swansea colleagues get from the vast majority of Cardiff supporters on this forum compared to the OTT aggressive nature of those when a Cardiff posters visits yours. The last part of your post above is a joke. If you want to talk about football, try me.
So what I should be grateful for is that only one person calls me a gypo or pikey on here , I post here as its my choice, I take whatever stick I get on the chin and be done with it, but I don't disguise my posts and call them 'sort it out' and blame you lot for the fact that people don't like each other. You can take my posts in any way you like, I don't care they are my opinions, if people don't reply so be it. What I don't do is pretend something I know is crap! I'm genuinely pleased that you guys got promoted, that's it I'm happy for you . If you believe that or not is up to you. I genuinely believe that you don't give a monkeys about the swans, and your post over there was condescending, I've told you that, and I don't beat about the bush about it. I basically use this forum for my own ends, I don't want to really meet any of you, though I probably have over the years. And I don't take things personally as its just a bit of cyberspace and anyone can be anyone, so not really something that takes up my time. Just a bit over the weekend, and when I get 5 minutes spare in work. So that's how I use this place, others are different and I respect that, for me it's not important at all
Jager, Not important but you keep posting, the Swans board has been imploding for an absolute age. We have our wind up merchants over here who dislike the Swans but it does not descend to the level we see on the Swans board. Personally I think you have some great posters who have left because of the likes of NJ & Libertarian who prefer to view everything as an attack on them or your team, even when being complimentary about the Swans we are "stealth wums". Seriously it's time the level headed guys on you board start biting back and control those clowns. If not it will become a barren wasteland devoid of decent banter and football chat.
It's not important to me as I do actually have a life outside of this forum, my family always comes first rather than a bit of cyberspace. And my views of the swans board can be viewed quite openly and I've said what I think, and i don't worry about whether people take my views to heart.
with regards to michu, if he wasnt playing then someone else would have taken his place, its all what ifs and hypothetical whether they would have stayed up without michu..... i must say i'm very surprised he signed a new contract, most players would be looking to make the next step up and make a shedload more money, like benteke is floating rumours that he wants to move to a bigger club. as for us, we have no idea whether we'll do well, or do badly, we'll get an idea of the sort of players we'll be signing in the next month to 6 weeks, and until then i cant really have any opinion as to if we'll survive or not. i personally think tan would be willing to break the bank to sign a striker to 'guarantee' survival though.....
Swampy - good man. Nice to see someone make a football comment instead of a psychologists report....... Quite correct that if any player was out, obviously someone would have taken their place. Unfortunately, there aren't many 20+ Prem goalscorers out there, let alone sitting on the Swansea bench. The principle is the same though. If you rely heavily on goals from one source and it dries up, you could be in trouble. There is no coincidence that Cardiff and Hull have both achieved auto promotion without have a double figure goalscorer in their ranks. It is also a fact that the two clubs with the top Championship scorers Palace/Murray and Watford/Vydra are having to play off to get the third spot. That tells a story in itself. Both Murray and Vydra dried up in the run in, and both clubs had to settle for the playoffs.
Oldsparky very happy to talk football my friend, and i must say i am looking forward to this season, i dont know about you but i find that there is much more life in these forums when we are both playing in the same league, do you not agree,
Things are very quiet at the minute, i have no doubt we will get linked with Messi later in the summer talk in the street is that he will be spending a week at carmarthen bay in late June,
