    Why dont we just play a 4-6-0? We could be pioneers for the 'no strikers' formation

    The biggest Q is, who is going to be free kick taker next season <yikes>

    We are blessed with Barton, Benny, Cabaye to name 3 who can all take them.
    If we sign Charlie boy there will be a real battle for them.

    Left hand side: Cabaye/Barton (obviously Raylor as well, but he rarely plays)

    Right hand side: Ben Arfa

    Squads will rotate a lot next season so he will get his fair share of starts as will everyone else. I wont be sad to see him starting games but I wont be sad to see him on the bench as his leadership is brilliant. However he will be moved on in the next 2-3 seasons as even he has admitted we will surpass his ability.
    Pretty much how it's going to be for him <ok>

    I've had my opinion on the other near identical thread from the other day, and regarding this topic title 'dropping' players in June is nonsensical anyway, but to sum it up Nolan has to play off the striker if Tiote isn't playing. Therefore we've got a rotatable team of:

    Best/Shola

    LM: Jonas AM: Ben Arfa/Nolan RM: Barton/a right winger (please!)
    CM: Barton/Cabaye/Nolan CM: Barton/Cabaye/Tiote

    Where the back two can rotate as needed.

    Either way its still not a massive squad, so injuries and suspensions may end up picking the team as usual. On the plus side it reduces the chances of me having to watch Smith or Guthrie kicking a football, though we've also got Vuckic and Gosling if they're looking good enough. Whoop!
