i don't think anyone can dispute that. barton even admitted he made contact in one of his tweets, bizarrely to piers morgan. i don't think it had the force to get the reaction from johnson but as i've stated before, barton's antics leading up to the incident could easily have been deemed as bookable or even dismissal offences anyway and there was no question he showed intent. i really don't see how we as a club can come out of this as the bad guys - anybody that watched the replay of the whole incident will know that. if they got their view from the patchy film on motd, then they probably think barton was unlucky and we cheated
I think you've got it in one. I've said this on our board consistently. Warnock seemed in awe of Barton when he first arrived, stripped Taarabt of the captaincy and letting Barton publicly criticise Taarabt as well. Consequently, our best player lost all confidence and was dropped. He's now playing well again and I honestly think he was the best player on the pitch against you, but the team spirit from last year just doesn't seem to be there. Trouble is, we lose Taarabt to the African Cup in a week's time and, if Barton loses his appeal, we could be without him for 3-4 games too. I wouldn't mind that so much if Taarabt wasn't missing too. Very important transfer window for us......and Warnock!!
I've tried it with a friend when discussing it (I obviously asked him) pushed my head against his and if he is walking away, as johnson was, then his head would go back like that.
