One of the symptoms of severe autism is that these people exhibit extreme adeptness in skills to which they have had no training, or even exposure to.

People with autism can also fixate on minute things that other people pay no attention to, like body language and muscle ticks and obsess about them, whilst ignoring things like people trying to talk to them.

Bodanki.. I have the feeling that you are an athiest . American would rather have a gay president than an athiest president. You are one of those who believe apes are those that missed the boat?.

Some fairly absolute statements on this, what neuroscience knows about the brain is far less than what it doesn't know.

Austism is a developmental disorder, one we still don't really know anything about, and it often leads to over development of other aspects of the brain, like one kid who could look at a building for 30 seconds and then draw the entire building, every line crack and wall window, everything.

I am not a ghost believer type, I am just saying we scientifically do not understand enough about the brain to absolutely dismiss anything of this nature. :D

Not quite sure what you mean by apes that missed the boat though? If you could clarify that?

Which evades the simple point that mentalism illusionists set out to deceive and their interaction with their audience is contrived.

Totally. They are all tricksters. I've yet to see a legit one.

Anyone with actual said ability would be in labs getting paid absolute fortunes to let science study them for a start. imo of course.

Ok fair enough, I was looking for someone to apply science to this and you're having a crack at it. Not sure you're right but there's a train of thought at least. <ok>

I have never been to see a mentalism illusionist so wouldn't know.
People like Derren Brown are completely up front with how they do what they do and explicitly state there is no magic, no illusion, and no trickery at play at all.
All just through training in Body language.

They can even adjust their own body language to plant suggestions in other people.
Like for example at the start of a seminar he will bring an envelope on stage and put it on a table, do a 2 hour seminar then at the end he will pick a random person from the crowd and ask them to think of an object and say it. In one of them my cousin said "A helicopter" and then the guy would open the envelope and the word helicopter would be written on a piece of paper within.
Easily done, he made my cousin think of a helicopter by adjusting his own body language to subliminally plant that word in my cousins mind.
No magic, just pure body language.

I agree, the child has no reason to come out with what is said.

Apart from the big bang...the other theory is that all human beings are previously apes.
The theory is that the boat came to transform every one to human, those that were quick got into
the boat and the slow ones failed to make it. Those that got into the boat became human and
    those that failed remained apes.

Derren Brown is a mentalism illusionist.

It's not just about body language either, it's about subtle suggestion and simple probabilities.

I agree. People like Derren have combined several different skills, thats why he is the best and most well known.
There are other less known people who focus on other fields...its very interesting.

He's very good at it, arguably the best in his field, but you only have to look a bit further down the foodchain to see the basis of how it works a bit clearer.
