WTF are you on about? Whether he was there or not, he's right - if no-one pushed, no-one would've been killed. The police were wrong in what they did but, without the fans piling pressure on them, it would never have happened.
That post totally highlights what a ****ing idiot he is. He dismisses my opinion because I wasn't there but believes his opinion is valid ......... despite not being there What a dope ..........
No, people who use blind tribalism, in an attempt to justify/explain this tragic event are morons. “Football Factory” should remain in the imagination of thugs and imbeciles and has no place among decent people. The game of football is insignificant in an incident such as Hillsborough and apportioning blame is the task of the authorities through investigation. My thoughts, as always, are with the 96 who lost their lives, their families and the hundreds of others who were injured.
Dunno what happened to Everton RAW, obviously I'm speaking from personal experience here, but we used to go down Everton every season before adult commitments restricted away games, and they were always sound, then by same token decent up here. It seemed to turn about 3 or 4 years back, or turn back as it seems, a good pal of mine is a Fulham fan and he said they were causing **** down there. At Fulham. The friendliest, most docile away ground you can imagine. When you hear of them spitting at kids and starting in fathers with their young uns in toe, a line has been well and truly crossed. ****ers.
Think ill defend the Liverpool fans I do think the scousers get undeserved crap at times, not helped by the garbage seen as fact on social media. When we played at Anfield there were reports of coaches being bricked and all sorts of nonsense after the City game when the truth of it was some little scallys threw stones at a city supporters coach going through Kirkby on the way to the ground, something that really could happen at any inner city football club. Reports of trouble outside the City end was also bollocks, city and Liverpool fans get on ok without any animosity and it was fine before and after. Last night we were all waiting at Euston for the train back from palace when the Liverpool fans train came into Euston and as you imagine there was a bit of banter but it was light hearted but I read some nonsense on twitter that Liverpool fans were abusive and the transport police had to step in. Just didn't happen Blaming Liverpool fans for pushing really is ridiculous. It could've happened to any clubs supporters, unless you know of one who are all considerate and always form an orderly queue. A terrible tragedy which should be viewed as just that There will be dickheads associated with every club, especially on twitter, but by and large the match going football supporters are not the Neanderthals that reading some internet forums would lead you to believe.
There's mention of “Football Factory” from me and, as it happens, I'm a very decent person. You know absolutely nothing about me but choose to join in a personal attack claiming I'm a moron. My thoughts are certainly with the people who died at Hillsborough, Heysel, Bradford, Ibrox and anywhere else where people died watching football ........ however, the fact remains that if irresponsible/drunken/ticketless people, as well as others, hadn't tried to push their way in no one would have died. And that's a fact you can't get away from.
So are you saying it was OK to push or that they're being blamed for pushing but didn't? Just to be clear BTW, there are threads on this, and the Hull forum, regarding Liverpool people attacking buses. I've no idea what happened with Man City but that doesn't affect what happened on other occasions.
With all due respect PaulPowers, you weren't at the match. You've realed off a few cliches and that's about it really. With regards to Hillsborough, I've got the utmost sympathy with everybody concerned and associated with that tragedy, it was and still is unbelievable that it happened. It does not grant Liverpool fans with immunity to criticism though.
You need to read my post, I didn't call you a moron, nor did I engage in a personal attack on you, my post was deliberately non specific, but if the cap fits your welcome to wear it.
"No, people who use blind tribalism, in an attempt to justify/explain this tragic event are morons." That was a direct response to me so if you were talking about other people I'll ignore everything you said
According to some people it does ....... they'll claim that clip is photo-shopped or "not actually Liverpool fans, just Liverpool scallies who just happened to be wearing red & white scarves near Anfield but hadn't been to the match." It appears that the Chelsea supporters are outnumbered yet middle aged & elderly men are standing laughing at them being clouted. As I said ****ing scumbags.
Anyone who went to matches, especially away games, during the 70s and 80swill know that it really could have been any of us. The only people responsible are the authorities Point scoring about Hillsbrough is just wrong in my opinion
Nice sidestep to my question mate I'm not point scoring so that's another thing you're wrong about or is no discussion allowed on a discussion forum? 'Anyone who went to matches, especially away games, during the 70s and 80s' will know that Liverpool supporters were always boasting about how they were great at getting into games without tickets, rushing turnstiles & stewards and using any means to get in. They were notorious for it and went all over Europe stealing cars, shoplifting & 'jibbing in'. They revelled in that reputation. Saying that other people have pushed doesn't mean that Liverpool are exempt from blame. They pushed and caused the other problems and mistakes.
I thought I'd answered the pushing bit in the first post, probably just in my head What I meant was everyone pushed and jostled to get in,we all will have had a few hairy moments at times but they were the unlucky ones that lost lives through something that could've been any club. Roker park was just as chaotic at times as were most grounds in those days
