We're just not creating any decent chances, we had a lot vs Norwich but 3/4 were all long distance shots that were just hit n ****ing hope, how can we expect to beat man u when we've only scored 2 goals in 3 games against weaker opposition and we've only made 6 chances in our last 2 games. We haven't even made a shot for Torres in 2 games and due to getting **** all service he seems to be playing in midfield all the t ime to try and start or create something, this is one of the most least creative midfields i've ever actually seen for chelse
And the even more annoying thing is we have two players that could help the creativity and speed factor, all we had to do was swap Malouda and Meireles for Josh and Piazon but yet we loan Josh and don't even give Piazon a chance, yes there young and inexperienced but in one way that's a good thing because there hungry, they want to prove themselves, malouda is 31 and earning a nice wage a week, you really think he could give 2 ****s about puting 100% effort in? Haven't seen any effort from Malouda in two seasons
Take out our double season and malouda has been pretty ****e for us for about 5 years. No pace, never beats a man and hangs on the fringes of a game. Was watching QPR game the other day and he flashed up on screen after about 40 mins. Up until that point i honestly didn;t even know he was playing!!! You can't blame one player but surely a Piazon or De Bruyne would be a better option??
Not long ago you were preaching that AVB needs 2/3 years to overhaul the current squad, I said to you at the time that Chelsea fans wouldn't accept a period in the wilderness with no CL football but you insisted you would suffer this if it was in the interest of long term success. Your post doesn't sound like someone who accepts that the current issues the club has will take time to resolve, and like a number of your fellow fans prefer to criticise and boo at the appropriate time rather than show an understanding for what issues exist. Football is in the mess it's in because of: 1. clubs general overspending and ignorance with finance 2. very little player loyalty 3. agents 4. demand for instant success by impatient owners and fans 5. reliance on Sky money
Fair point but it's hardly as if we are doing anything towards long term success. Drogba plays every week when available, Torres (the future) on the bench Our best group of youngsters in years and not a single one gets any game time (Josh now out on loan) We are pretty much playing the same side that looked so lacklustre last year. I think most Chelsea fans would accept a little less success if we could see long term that players like Bertrand, Hutchinson, Kakuta, Josh, Piazon, Lukaku etc were going to form the back bone of our next great side. Instead we going backwards but not blooding these players either. Sturridge is the only exception and he only plays because he done so well at Bolton.
Further, this window we've bought 3 players, Cahill an England international hasn;t had a kick in 3 games, one we've sent out on loan and the 18 year old will probably spend 2-3 years in the reserves and move on. As long as Malouda still gets a game though....
My opinions changed because i thought he would of learned from his mistakes, his not learning from them. If things aren't going right you change the team, his not seeing things, obviously it's easier to judge when your not the manager but come on if your midfield doesn't create a chance for your striker then what do you do in the next game? Change the midfield not keep the exact same ****ing midfield
Very shortsighted I feel, and a view that is consistent with most modern football fans. Spot a problem fix it with a cheque. He's been in charge half a season, the pressure fans apply may well see him walk and then you're back to square one. Perhaps you've become too used to success ?
No. it's that he persists in playing the wrong players. Malouda wasn't even league 2 standard last night. I didn't see him create a single decent chance, was woeful at set pieces and I don't remember seeing him actually beat anyone 1-1. Couple that with playing Bosingwa at RB and Ivanovic in the centre rather than Ivan on the right and Cahill in the centre. Then taking Romeu off instead of Malouda and not bringing on Piazon to add a new dynamic to the midfield to actually create some bloody chances that the overberated Torres might actually tuck away.
The thing that irritates me now is that we have yet another manager who is not prepared to give youth a chance. Cole is in dire form and Bertrand should have been getting some games at least. Now he's expecting Bertrand (I hope he is) to come in and do a job when he's had next to no first team football. I'm happy to have a sea on of transition, even 2,but ffs let's see some transition because right now all we have is the same old plodders doing the same old plodding. (Romeu and Sturridge are exceptions but Sturridge should be in the middle and Romeu is not as good as some think)
Coolhand - no disrespect but AVB would have had his reasons, of course you're entitled to your view but you're not inside the inner circle at the club, you won't know what went on that led to decisions being made - the only people who know that are the manager, his no' 2 and maybe a few players. It's easy to be critical, I see/hear it all the time on the Arsenal board from 'fans' who support the club from their armchairs and believe they know more about the game that a manager like Wenger. AVB needs time - the fans impatience will do your club no favours in the long run
As i said on another thread i couldn't give a **** if we never win a trophy again or if we lose or draw as long as i'm seeing every one of those players actually putting in the effort and desire and passion. So far this season AVB isn't getting the maximum effort passion and desire from a lot of the players, the only players that have actually put 100% effort into every game this season are Luiz,Terry,Mata and Torres. Even Cole looked like he couldn't give a **** yesterday he could of been sent off 4 times over, didn't even look where he was going in half of his tackles. The desires not there and thats the managers problem
