I've been on the official site, and Liverpool have only 18 players that make up a 25 man squad, there is more than that, but they are in the under 21 section and they include Henderson, Kelly and Coates, Flanagan and Robinson. So it possibly means that we have room to sign possibly 2-3 more.
I bet the journalists feel stupid now for all the articles on 'Liverpool's inflated midfield' near the START of the transfer window. I'm more than happy with what we are left with.
Utd also sell some of there top players too! look at Ronaldo, Tevez and Beckham. The fact is that sucessful clubs dont want to be continually polishing the ego's of the so called top players, what they want is competative and pasionate squad who are prepared to do anything for there club. SAF is good at knowing when to move on these player's which allows him to constantly evolve his team, never becoming over riliant on any one player and keeping the opisition on there toes. IMO KK will also be good at knowing when to move on the "top players" as proved to be the case with Torres and with the right backing from FSG he should be able to keep the squad competative and hungry!
Even though Spearing started most of our games towards the end of last season and did well in them? If we played 3 in the middle, it would be Adam, Lucas and Henderson, and Gerrard when he's back. We have replacements for them. And the term 'selling club' shouldn't cause any confusion at all. Everyone here knows what it means, so maybe you're the one who doesn't...
suarezlfc. Spearing didnt even get in the u21 england squad, if he wasnt from the place(liverpool) he wouldn't be playing for liverpool. In my honest opinion he will never be a regular starter for liverpool and may be sold in the next couple of seasons. I beleive Kelly, Robinson, Shelvey, Coady, Wilson, Suso and sterling could be future regulars and have much more potential than Spearing.
There is nothing wrong with the ''Spucas partnership'' its as good as any in the league. The two compliment each other rather well and haven't done all that badly when called upon. How about this, a Spearing/Gerrard combination when its necessary to give Lucas a rest.
But that's precisely where Meireles was. He'd be on the bench for probably 30+ games this season. Would I have liked him to stay? Yes. But it's not the end of the world that he's gone. We did just fine on Saturday without him.
not been on here a while cos i cant remember my new password and i write it down and i cant remember where i put it lol. i firmly believe if somebody wants to leave the club let them go,whether its gerrard or the cleaner just go if you dont want to be here.so regarding meireles,so what?he dosent want to be here so sod you dont care how good you are,get lost,i hope you are as a big hit playing for chelski as judas and yossi are (were in yossis case)!!!! what is the point of keeping players who dont want to play for the club like modric and tevez?it only brings unrest in the squard, the club with the fans etc etc.
Welcome back! And I fully agree with your points. There is no point keeping a player who doesn't want to be at the club. We need 100% commitment from our players and we've got that. It's all good!
hi chris thanks lol got peed off with my password and crap so couldnt be bothered, all i wanted them to do was send me my old password back!!!!! yes with all our new recruits its looking very exciting, but the next two away games are going to be very important with stoke and spuds, then its man utd home then everton away, big four games ahead.
