I really disagree that the spuds deserved to win. We had two decent penalty shouts turned down. The first goal deserved a win just for its quality.
I hate the argument of who 'deserved to win'. The team who scored the most goals deserved to win. If it's a close game like yesterday then nobody deserved to win outright.
Yesterday was an exciting game of football played by 2 sides with differing skills and abilities who both made critical mistakes. We deserved it because we scored 3 and they scored 2. But don't go running away with the idea that we 'slaughtered' them. Sure we can bask in the warmth of a victory and in the performance of the team as a whole. I did say after the Zenit match that it looked like the team had finally found a team spirit. Well yesterday, with different players, that spirit was there for all to see. However, our defending from crosses was cruelly exposed and Lucas had a mare when it cam to distributing the ball. All in all - I'm still smiling!
I'd agree... we never slaughtered them. the game swung one way and the other in terms of who dominated. i think we only had about 10mins where we had more of the ball. We got lucky it wasn't 1-3 before we switched to 4-3-3 and they handed us a goal too. I thought that johnson was terribly poor on the day but overall we dug in well after a panic stations sort of period. its that panic stations sort of thing that we need to cut out.
