Michael Laudrup must be licking his lips at the prospect of having some decent money to spend for probably the first time in his managerial career. I don't think that his previous clubs were any too flush, so I hope that Huw will give him a large chunk of the transfer fee to spend. So far we haven't spent a great deal so there must be a surplus from our original budget to go on top of it. We need to spend but spend wisely because there's £60 million at stake next season which should set the club up for life providing we continue to be sensible. I will miss Joe, wish him well and will always welcome him back but we can now afford to buy in some cracking talent that can help us cement our place in the Premier League. Go for it, Lauds.
, I agree with Ivor but would just like to add **** Brendan (if we could use some of the £22 million to arrange for Usain Bolt, for example, to do the ****ing all the better)
If thats true... we had better get used to this pre-season ****e as we will see this happen more often! The sooner we get the expansion and academy running, the better .... it's the only way we can compete on a more level'ish' playing field whilst staying within our means.
And / or we expand our means, which in the football industry means internationalizing our brand and generating revenue in addition to domestic streams. Sooner or later we will have to do this or face cost overruns as our contracted payroll and operational expenses catch up to our Prem revenue stream.
Behave 80,000 he's getting £40,000 tops under our new wage structure. FSG would never allow him to be paid that much when they have spent the last 2 years getting rid of most the players on more than £60,000 pw. Your 'sauce' is wrong mate I'm afraid. Lets see whats reported because the LFC insider journos will know for definite how much he's on.
Agree with that toela65. he will get more than we will pay him but the fact that a team like liverpool want him is a bigger factor.....good on him for achieving his goal at a young age and part of a massive team....rodgers will get the best out of him and if he can get a couple of more of our players then he will have the beginning of a team that will achieve brendans goal of the game he wants liverpool to play their football.......Brendan is going to make liverpool great again i have no doubt about that....
With a wage bill of £135mil a year it doesnt look like they are having much luck. If you have say your top 15 players (and Joe will be a top player in Brendan's eyes) averaging £80k per week that only equates to £62mil a year.
