We might purchase a certain Bentley.... For Mr Gazidis that is. I highly doubt it. If we get a Top midfield Player like Sahin or Mvila in I would be happy. As for strikers I think we're ok. Would only be worth adding if we could get a TOP class striker in.
When asked by TF1 if he would replace Van Persie, Arsene Wenger replied: "We already recruited to replace him. It's sad to lose a player of his quality. He had a year left on his contract so we didn't have the choice." so according to that quote, no, we will not be signing a replacement.
we're not getting any replacement, Wenger said we have already got our replacements. i'm sorry, but this is the usual wenger **** up, wenger initially said they were not replacements and brought to strengthen the team, now all of a sudden they're replacements? that's what you call a **** UP.
I find it extremely hard to believe that we would try to offload 4 natural strikers (van persie, Bendtner, Park, Chamakh) and only bring in one natural replacement (Giroud).
Why? this is Arsenal, we have a habbit of selling 2-3 players from one position and bringing 1 or no replacement. Remember Fabregas and Nasri? We have a right habit of wanting to have the thinest depth in squad as possible.
None of those players were anything close to fabregas and nasri. we have NOW REPLACED FABREGAS with Cazorla. If you think Arteta and Benayoun were Fabregas' replacements, you have lost your mind, Arteta is A TOTALLY different player to both Fabregas and Nasri. And Benayoun sure as hell was no Fabregas replacement.
It's funny but when he was sold most Arsenal fans seemed to think that Nasri had only ever played 1/2 a good season for us
Not sure I see the value of buying a big name striker that will sit on the bench unless both Giroud and Podolski get injured. I think I'd really like other areas of the team strengthened before we go spending big bucks on another striker.
The quality of the players wasn't the point I was trying to make, it was the quantity. Nasri, our left winger, was replaced by Gervinho, a left winger. Arteta and Benayoun were brought in to combat Fabregas' departure. You can be naive and say that Arteta wasn't his replacement, but he was, and it resulted in a tactical change.
