    So it will be back to seeing thousands of empty seats for their next home game!!

    I think that Short is begining to get pissed off with the lack of commitment from their fans. He puts over £25 million of his own cash into the club each year, the team are having their best season for years, and the fans can't even be bothered to go to matches. no wonder Quinn is panicking, the money won't be available to re-inflate Steve Bruce's face!!!

    Sunderland is and always will be deluded by grandeur. It is a small town thinking it is a big city. It has a polytechnic thinking it is a university. It has a glass shop thinking it is a museum. It has a tram stop thinking it is a mainline railway station. It has a gliding club thinking it is an international airport. It has a dirty sewer that thinks it is a major river. It has a stepping stone it thinks it is a world recognised bridge. It has a hot dog stall that thinks it is a world class party venue. It doesn't have a cathedral. It never appears on the BBC weather map. It is covered by BBC Radio Newcastle. It is served by the BBC and ITV from studios in Newcastle. It has a manager who "allegedly" supported Newcastle. It has a football team that has never played in the Champions League. It has a football team that his made 4 appearances in Europe compared to 125 by Newcastle. And finally....it has supporters obsessed to the point of delirium with Newcastle United!!

    Nah mate those days are over. West Brom officially claimed our title. We've had 4 seasons in the premiership now which will be 5 come next season and for a sunderland fan that's a relief after some of the horror shows we've witnessed since the Phillips/Quinn days. I'd be more worried about your own club in the long run. Second season syndrome anybody?

    an original title mind, i hate sunderland football club. i'd be surprised anyone supporting newcastle doesn't hate sunderland.sunderland fans hate newcastle , celtic hate rangers, villa hate birmingham, ipswich hate norwich etc etc etc. What a stupid post <doh>

    songs of the 70s and 80s, can't beat em but why leicester? we also used to sing this song, replace sunderland with liverpool and replace newcastle with sunderland and that was ours, but again why leicester?

    i hate sunderland only because they hate newcastle.

    the fact they are a **** football team, with no supports and the only things to be lifted in the next century there are potatoes has does nothing for me

    i love it when a sunderland fan dares to even attempt to think sunderland is better then newcastle, absolutley love

    we did not under estimate them, they were just better then we thought.
