Good attitude to have mate. I’m having a **** time at the moment, my old man is on his death bed, I’m skint and the clutch went on my van yesterday. My brother lent me his car and my puppy chewed up the key fob this morning. £280 for a new key. **** it. I’ll rise to the surface again soon, take a deep breath and get on with it.
I guess after everything I've been through losing my family and suicide attempts. All I have left is humour to console me. Mate, I'm so sorry to read this. You're one of the good guys on here and really don't deserve to be going through this. I know you'll find the strength to bounce back. I hope your old man is as comfortable as can be and you find something within to get through this **** storm.
Thanks mate. I know you’ve been through some **** too so you understand. I use that ‘rising to the surface’ analogy as a surfing metaphor. I’ve been in situations where I’ve been held down under water and getting dragged over rocks, tumbled around, not knowing what way is up or down and not knowing when I’ll be able to take a breath. The key to surviving that **** is to relax, go with it, don’t try and fight it, and know that eventually you will rise to the surface and take a big breath of fresh air.
I was wrong Matth, I thought you did but now I've been told it's wasps. If you're not working today, would you mind helping? My neighbour (who happens to be a scientist) has an outside air brick in the wall. In the summer these motherfucker wasps keep flying out. I think they've set up home but it's scaring the kids. The weird thing is, one of the wasps' head and leg look different. I swear I can hear the little bugger screaming "Help me, help me!". And I've not seen my neighbour in ages. What should I do??
That's a good one, mate. I usually buckle under pressure but yeah the main thing is always to try remain calm and rational. We are both experienced in life and know that eventually it passes and life begins to get easier again. Easy to say when I'm not going through it, I know.
You can probably get a replacement plastic case on Ebay for a few quid if the electronic part still works . I bought one recently when the button to open the doors fell off.
You’ve been there mate, so you know. Probably 95% of us on here have been through some **** like this. It’s how you deal with it that counts. Some people turn their anger on themselves or others. Some people try and blot it out with booze and drugs, others just crumble into a heap of self pity. Not judging people for how they deal with it, we’re all different.
Thanks mate. Dog has chewed up the microchip on the circuit board and it’s one of those intelligent keyless systems. So no key fob means the car doesn’t start. It’ll need a new fob and programming from Nissan.
I have become Buddhist in my outlook on the World I'm not motivated by shiny expensive things and don't care about money. Obviously having a relative getting Ill especially your dad is painful my old man is 77 and not in good shape. Unfortunately some things are out of your own control so you need to tackle the problems 1at a time . My life is definitely a rollercoaster of success happiness and doom but as others have pointed out it's how you deal with the hard times that shapes your character and future. I was going to make a poop joke about you bobbing to the surface but that would be childish .
