In regards to the points about my comments (so I don't have to quote that entire tirade). You misunderstood. The money to replace Reina... would... be from the... sale of Reina! haha. I know that, although I'm sure City will find a way around the rules, and UEFA won't follow through with any sanctions on big teams. Being a fan doesn't mean blind loyalty to ex players! Right, I'm not a proper fan because I disagree with you, guess you must be right. I realise all the complexities of the issues at the close of the season, believe me, I do. I've reached a different judgement to you, that's all. I am in no way 'fickle'. I spent all year defending Kenny to the hilt but you have to put your head above the parapet sometimes and think about what you're doing. He did, over twenty years ago, with a class A team. He then did well for six months or so when the biggest plus point was that he wasn't Roy Hodgeson. His tactics in that first 6 months were a breath of fresh air - the five at the back for instance vs Chelsea. But, last season, he looked inept, he didn't know his best team, he was determined to pick his best players, dropped players who were in form and ignored them in preference of his favourites. Harsh, but that's what happened. I'm committed to giving them a fair, balanced and reasoned chance. They haven't made their money by ruining their assets. Also, if I was fickle, surely I'd be against FSG right now because they haven't spent £50M on Cavani and £30M on Sneidjer? I think it's you that has to realise we could never rebuild properly with Kenny. He had no vision and to be honest was a dead man walking after the Suarez affair, which you haven't mentioned. I'm not going to comment on your closing rant. In conclusion... Look; I love Kenny. He was a great player, a good manager once, he saved us after Roy from embarrassment or worse. As a person he has great dignity, a great attitude and he and his wife do a lot of good work. But, he wasn't the right man. Everyone could see it but us, the loyal fans. There comes a time when you have to start seeing things as they are, not how you wish they were.
I wouldn't say it is loyalty to ex-players, it is just loyalty to the club and what it should stand for. I too would have followed Liverpool into the Vauxhall Conference, they are my team, they don't have to maintain a certain level for me to support them. Saying that Kenny would not have taken us down.
Keep the faith guys Jesus. Early days, players being linked is normal. I was much more worried last year.
I do worry when players are linked away and the latest news that Juventus want to pair RVB with Luis Suarez, I hope Liverpool tell them where ****ing go. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18935349
I dont see where Juve are going to get the money for both, Italian clubs are tighter than Arsenal. Hope we tell them to take a running jump and they loose out on RVP, even if that means he ends up at City. I really hate the pushy cheap attitude of the Italian clubs
If signing Suarez would persuade Van Persie to join Juventus then we should pull our finger out and say 'come and play with Suarez if you want but he isn't leaving Liverpool'...
They are competitive enough to qualify for the champions league at the standared they play at, are Liverpool?
Funnily enough I thought exactly the same as I read the bullshit....I just didn't have the bollox to even suggest it
Not at the moment but let's not forget we've already got a big fat five of the beauties we own the thing...do Juve???
If RVP was a serious option, would many fans be up for it though...? Arsenal reportedly want between £25m and £30m for him but he is 29 and in the last year of his contract, add the £150k+ wages into the equation and over the course of three or four year he would cost us between £48.4m and £61.2m (based on £150k per week) with very little resale value. Of course, my optimism of making the top four would vastly increase but then, there are his injury problems to consider too.
"Glass of spunk with your humble pie?" I spat beer on my laptop. Quality line. I'm very easily amused and, now, unfortunately, I may need another laptop! Edit: No, it's okay, it seems to work, still.
We all would, I would think. Doesn't mean we should accept it when it's happening in front of us. It hurts to see our club fall so hard. Hopefully the Juve thing is a smokescreen to aid the RVP bid.
Yeah the difference is though that I never thought that a bad few months meant everything was crumbling before our very eyes. Watching us under Roy I got that feeling but last year we were hardly playing terrible football. The problem for me mate is a question of patience, if people thought the last few months under Kenny were tough then they may well be in for a shock because we will have bad spells under Rodgers as well. Unfortunately it will be some of the same ones who thought a few tough months under Kenny was good enough reason to sack him who will be trying to railroad BR out after a few hard months NOT the ones who were supportive of Kenny.
