I don't care if he was played out of position, hes a professional. For me he didn't show anywhere near the drive or commitment I would expect. Sometimes I get ****ty jobs at work, but rather than coast I'll put effort in, that's why they pay me. Sahin should have put a lot more into his game, wherever he was on the pitch, best he's gone.
In his first game for us, against Arsenal, Gerrard was used as the AM. He and Allen sat. Equally, he was always used deeper in Europe, with Shelvey being the more advanced of the midfield 3. I can't really think of a game where he was employed specifically as a 'number 10'. Perhaps against Norwich, but then he looked good in that game. Against West Brom, his other best performance, he was also the deepest of the midfield 3, with Pacheco and Henderson the more attacking. Very odd.
