I think it'll be Mourinho.I was reading Paul Scholes's book, he speaks highly of him an reckons most of the United players like him as well. That's good enough for me.
I didn't say that I don't like Jose, I do I think he's good manager, and I like his personality, but I don't think he is the outstanding candidate(currently) to take over. That is not say that he won't be the man to one day fill fergie's boots, it's just that no-one in my mind is ready; and neither is Fergie ready to go. For the record apart from all the success ferguson has bestowed united I don't like the man, but he'll be the toughest act in football ever to follow ... bigger than busby and shankly & paisley.
he just bugs me from the day he arrived, I know he's what he's achieved an all that, and I'm not disputing what he's done for United, just don't have any connection with him, suppose i'm just wired in a completely different way. I have worked with people who I have so much respect for profesionally, but out of work wouldn't give them the time of day, likewise I have got/had really great friends but I couldn't for one second work with them, I suppose that's the best way of describing how I feel about Big Al ................ like he would give a **** anyway
It will be Mourinho with a view to a former United great taking over in the future. Mourinho loves United, United love winning, players will only respect a man who can say hes earned respect from SAF and the idea of anyone else scares me as we would just end up as another Liverpool. Plus being United and loving to piss everyone else off having SAF the greatest manager of all time succeeded by Jose Mourinho, the best young manager in football by a billion miles ( **** Pepe, **** ****, doubt he would win the CL with Porto or similar ) will get everyones backs up. Excellent!
No club could slide into mediocrity like the scousers. Their fans are deluded if thy think they can ever regain the good times. These were more two whole decades ago and they'll have to wait another two decades for that first premiership title.
Not literally ****tard. As a potential job, hes an egoist and what better way to give your ego that boost than to manage the biggest club in the world right after the greatest manager of all time. All mourinhos jobs have been easy compared to the one he really wants.
Bloody difficult job it will be...I don't like the special one, he is a self publicist has a huge ego, but he will be a winner... The football may ntbe pretty sometimes but will bring trophies... If he were managing City this season, goodness knows what they would have done...
I feel hes good enough to develop a style that suits both United and him. Fergie isnt afraid to mix it up if needed and Mourinho isnt scared of a fight. Plus come on, how angry would the rest of english football be, it would be like the devil getting a new house and a new car that just destroyed everyone elses house and car and bragged about it from the top of a really tall building while pissing down on them. A massive **** you to the likes of City and Chelsea who think money is everything.
If we were to hire Jose, then would have to start thinking immediately about who to replace him when he quits in two years. Thats why i wouldn't want him. I have no doubt he'd deliver a title, but he would ultimately leave us worse off.
I dont know if he would leave. We are a club that has shown we trust managers and at his other clubs that trust hasnt been there, often on both sides. He could leave after a few years but I think if hes allowed to do things his way like fergie has been able to then he may feel comfortable and have a good stint here. How many other managers at the clubs hes been at lasted longer than him since he left them?
There's no way MUFC and Fergie haven't discussed and chosen possible replacements for whenever he decides to retire.
That's the problem i've got with him, if he was going to be our new manager, he'll probably be with us for 2 years and then leave.
Yep very difficult task to follow him. Sometimes he IS the difference between the teams... Like in the last two seasns...
I agree, but if it is Mourhino and Real go on to win the CL,La Liga and the WCT for the next few years, that means Fergie would have to wait until Mourhino decides to leave Real rather than Utd telling him when to leave for OT. Thats why i think next season Phelan will get the boot and Solksjaer will take over as number two to Fergie and ultimately take over in two or 3 years with Fergie watching over his interim period in charge from the boardroom and giving him advice when needed.
