    Who says Krul is No.1?!

Fight for the shirt. By your logic no team can ever have 2 decent keepers at the same time.....? Why do we have to choose one, and get rid of the other? Its ridiculous. End of.

Who says Krul is number 1? Everybody, including Pardew who has picked him in every single game this season. We arent getting rid of Harper necessarily, who said we were?

To be fair, even if Krul is no 1, I think Forster should at least try his arm for a season at the toon and wait for a chance or be in the managers view in training etc, as Smudger suggested "fight for a place"

He'd need to play better than Krul does for us, at Celtic to even get a chance. Doubt his performances will even match Krul on current form.

Pardew hasnt said he is No.1. Even said to Krul himself. Somebody has to play obviously and he is the man at the moment. Nobody's said we are gettin rid of Harper.....no-one wud take him anyway. Forster will be joining Celtic perm this time next year. And considering he is a future England keeper that has come through OUR youth system, its a total joke.

You seem to be forgetting that the players have a say in this. Forster apparently wasn't prepared to sit on the bench and wanted the loan move (indications are that Celtic have an option to buy included so he will probably leave), Soderberg has also asked to go on loan to get game time.

That leaves Krul and an injured Harper. We need another keeper. End of ...

I don't think any movement will be linked to some kind of injury prone fears re: Harper. I personally don't consider him injury prone, and his record suggests he isn't. He made 45 appearances in the Championship in his first season as a regular so he can certainly play regularly without much trouble. He was just unfortunate to pick up this knee injury last year. I think it is solely to do with Krul taking his spot. At Harpers age I can't imagine he'll be happy to play 2nd fiddle and will probably want to move on. This may well fit in nicely with getting rid of the final outspoken voice who knows. Make no mistake despite Pardew keeping Krul on his toes, Krul is No.1. I personally still rate Harper slightly better as the more consistent keeper but its a sensible decision by the club, however uncomfortable after Harpers service. We cannot afford to lose Krul. As Krul showed with the goal on Saturday, young keepers make mistakes and he has things to learn but the club have to look past this season. I cannot see any future for Forster. Not because as some suggested after Leeds that he is not good enough, but because he'll never be good enough to oust Krul and you can't sustain two keepers of their age. Those writing Forster off at his age are foolish beyond belief to be honest, he is a baby in keeping terms. If Soderberg now wants a loan I can understand two keepers coming in. Plus the combined wage of Elliott and Bolec will be nowhere near what Harps is on so the wage bill can be reduced in the process. It all fits pretty well to be fair to the club.

How would Forster fight for a place sat on the bench, especially given that Krul is a better keeper?

Well if Forster is under the impression he will be on the bench all season, then the staff havent handled the situation properly. If you wan to send him out on loan and fine.....but to sell him (which we will) is ludicrous.

Thats my point though, he should stay and fight for a place.

If Soderbergs off, then yes, re my OP question, that makes sense.

Like I say. Your logic means its impossible to have 2 good keepers at once.

So why are we selling him? You think thats a good idea?

Well he'd need to impress in training etc, or wait for an injury and make it impossible to drop him etc. Given his ability to throw in mistakes that make de Gea look solid I admit, its unlikely!

It is. Why would Forster have any intention of staying if we rate Krul above him? He obviously asked for the move.

Well you need to take that point up with Forster no point criticising the club. They can't make Forster want to stay and fight for his place that is down to him.

It is very hard to keep two good keepers happy. That is why having a keeper as good as Harper prepared to sit on the bench for so long getting very fews games is a remarkable thing. We have been very lucky in that respect.

Actually I don't think we will be selling Harper, I hope we keep him as back up until he retires and then we give him a coaching role.

No, why are we selling Forster?

I want us this time next year to have Krul and Forster fighting for the shirt and Harps as the coach......but it isnt going to happen.

Well if Forster is under the impression Krul is above him than the situation hasnt been dealt with properly.
