Barca play superb football which is not boring in itself but what is boring is that they have perfected a system and understanding to a point where they are practically unbeatable the constant pass and move almost puts you in a trance like state when watching. But Barca unlike Spain you throw Messi into the mix who gives attacking genuis to all the smart movement and it becomes at times breathtaking and for me the perfect football team. The Liverpool team of the late eighties were a similar but not as good football machine
No, it's not boring, because you start to watch the football with a different eye. I do know what you're getting at, but some of the stuff is football poetry. Spain do have a tendancy to want to walk the bloody thing into the net, but are one of the only sides I'll bother to watch outside of watching Saints because you're watching for a very different reason. Mind you, Germany are also extremely watchable, or they were during the last world cup. My other country, Italy aren't quite worth bothering with purely for football reasons, at the moment.
I know where you are coming from, although i love it when i see Barcelona play the way they can i still don't watch them in the spanish league because you are right,it is kinda boring, they may be the most technically gifted team on the planet and play beautiful football but it is not exactly exciting watching them play a weak spanish team and smashing them 8 - 0 like they did a few weeks ago,i'd take the thrill and excitement of english football over foreign football every day of the week.As for international football,i couldn't care less! i don't support England!
I only meant that there's more than one way to enjoy football. You don't have to DEFINE the way you enjoy, do you? If you watch Barcelona play, you'll see that they inject more than a bit of pace and power into their game. That "fancy flicks rubbish" means players who've been encouraged to play football from 12 years old practising their art and beating packed defences, like Barça did against Man Utd. Or not? You don't like it, OK, but please don't say it's rubbish or ineffective!
This is something I have said for a while. Barca are boring. Great goals yes but 100 pass moves from defense to the mid to the edge of the box to the byline before going back to the mid etc bores me stupid. Much prefer Man U attack attack attack than the pass, pass, pass tippy tappy crap. Liverpool under Houllier always got criticised for this sort of thing (sideways passing) as did England however when Barca do it people rave. So Man U 50 shots a game with a few goals beats Barcas 75% possession (of which 74% is non threatening) with the same amount of goals any day of the week Spain were pretty boring tonight but not quite as bad as Barca. Wish Kill Billy would've passed that ball to make it 3-2. Spain may have attacked a bit more then and made it an end to end match. First time I've been impressed with CMS
CMS is one of the worst Internationals I've seen. Wow he can run a lot, give him a football and he's clueless. Ridiculously over rated.
Something I don't like is passing for the sake of passing and constantly passing sideways, which slows the tempo down. Barca and Spain do it a lot, which is pretty frtustrating, although Barca play with a faster tempo and more penetration with Messi in the team. Spain at the World Cup didn't score many goals and the ball was pinging around in midfield mostly. They won, but it wasn't my idea of good football. I'd much rather watch the Germans or any English club side that favours exciting, end to end football.
