but that is 12 more than this time last season things are looking up with regard to growing a new fan base
I sat behind the goal yesterday with a good view of each Stand. Estimated attendance as follows: Doncaster fans: 800 West Stand: 1250 -generous... East Stand: 1000 Covered End: 4750 [max] I make that a real attendance of under 8,000.
A wins a win I suppose but fans seem to think el Gobbo is special ...he is ...special needs in my eyes
Konsa was my MOM yesterday & showed again what a massive natural talent he is. Very composed and authoritative against Doncaster’s No.9, who is a decent player at this level. I also liked the way Konsa gave him a clip in the first half off the ball, as if to say don’t try bullying me. I was thinking of a CH that Konsa reminds me of and came up with Ledley King in terms of his calmness and body strength. Konsa is far more talented than Joe Gomez IMo and it’s gutting that the Belgian idiot will no doubt undersell him in January.
It’s going to be another massive kick in the balls when Konsa is given away - just the sort of player an ambitious club would build a team around
But we'll be in a strong play-off position come January and will want to build on it.........................................
The fact that Gobbo had KAG and Dodoo on the bench yesterday & didn’t feel able to use either of them was interesting ...
.........but not surprising. Bringing on Sarr for DaSilva made sense. DaSilva, however good he is going forward, was getting bypassed quite easily.
Konsa is nowhere near as good as Gomez yet. Konsa played well against Doncaster in Div1. Gomez played very well against Man U in The Premiership. The 3.5 M we got for Gomez was peanuts. I have watched Gomez since he was 16 and he will play for England.
Agreed, but I think Konsa will too. Ezil needs to look at what has happened to Lookman - a disasterous 12 months in his career as he put money before appearances
He was brilliant. Played amazingly against both them and arsenal this season. Here’s hoping he can force his way in to the national side for the World Cup.
Someone saying on CL that KR did the tunnel jump on SAturday. If anyone stayed on after the whistle could they confirm or deny this?
I heard the cheer for the tunnel jump, but I was outside the ground by then. If true, for Robinson to be doing tunnel jumps now is pretty cringeworthy. In one breath he's touting Konsa around, then in the next he's jumping out of the tunnel....if somebody threw him a stick would he fetch it back? Of course the fans begin to cheer as soon as they see movement. It takes a second to recognise who it actually is. However, that mood of jubilation a few minutes after the final whistle is going to be the natural high point of KR's popularity anyway. He's just overseen a win so few of those still present would begrudge him a cheer if he wants one. Do remember though, it is not the entire stand that observes this ritual anymore. Many have already departed by the time it plays out. Maybe Katrien Meire would like to chance her arm jumping out of the tunnel next time we win at home...
I agree with dickp. Konsa will have to be some player to go beyond Gomez- Gomez is class, couldn't believe the quality he showed when he made his first team debut for us (16?). May be a little biased but I'd move him into CB at Liverpool when Clyne comes back- better than Matip/Lovren/Klavan IMO. Gomez may go on to captaining England senior one day.
