I have had two mercs , two BMW and a Audi but when I discovered the 9-3 viggen Saab the bar was raised it puts a smile on my face every day. There are many things in life that gladly have fallen under the radar like eg Corsica, Saabs Mac mini Long way that stay that way
I've had mainly Mercs and Audi's and to be honest Mercs are more comfortable but I wouldn't swap my Saab for one now, far too much fun!
Know the feeling DT. Got a BMW tedium now, due to company policy, but my favorite was a MK5 Golf GTI Pirelli special edition DSG. 230 bhp of fun, used to drive around with a stupid grin on my face, last hurrah as a boy racer. My colleagues used to sneer because I'd turned down an e-class or 5 series for it, until I let them have a go. Those SAABs always used to get a second look from me though. It's nice and mellow on here this evening, makes a nice change.
Oct 68 my first visit to HQ and paid a shilling at the School End which was my domain for about twelve years. One thing I loved was just being able to turn up, pay and in you go, none of this fart-arsing about booking etc. The atmosphere back then was brilliant, the big bass drum banging away and Marshy followed by Stanley to entertain the punters. My first car had a 'QPR -The Entertainers' sticker in the back window. In later years I gravitated to the Paddock and now have to make do with crap views from the leftovers as I'm not a ST holder, but it's being there and being part of it that is the addiction that never dies and when the 'old lady' goes it will be another part of my history that will be wiped out. I remember being gutted when I went to Brixton a few years back and both my primary and secondary schools had both been demolished and replaced with housing, it felt like I'd had a piece of me cut out, it was so surprisingly emotional and I know it'll be the same when that fateful day arrives...
Will miss loftus road..my favourite place on earth. It's somewhere I can say I've seen the same team as my old man in the same stadium, in three different divisions at all different ends of the table with all the highs and lows! And I'm only a whipper snapper too! ( 24 ) will be a sad day when we leave...
