Well, united's team is a lot better than yours no? Odd to think you would have done that much better.

    RVF.
Is it now really. Its my opinion that if Arsenal developed a set of balls, they would wipe the floor with Man United. They aren't as good as the media would make you believe, there is certain parts of their team that lets be fair is distinctly average.Saturday night proved that they are in fact a poor side that got lucky in the league.Lets see how easy it will be for them when Liverpool start flexing their muscles in the transfer market. They have benefitted like Spurs from Liverpools financial crisis. Now that financial crisis is over, and Liverpool from this summer onwards are going to flex their muscles.I said before that when Liverpool were owned by Hicks and Gillett they had the financial power of a Frank Bruno punch, now they have the power of a Mike Tyson upper-cut.

United's squad is a lot better than ours, but we've proved that our first team is better.

<laugh> Remind me where did your 'better than Utd' Liverpool team finish in the League compared to us? Also remind us all how many finals of cup competitions did Liverpool reach? Finally which European competition will your 'better than Utd' team being featuring in next season?

Oh well no fear since you've got Joe "good as Messi" Cole to entertain you dippers on a match day. Quality <ok>!!

Well at least if we played Barca we would have put up a fight and not played a traffic cone and an old git that can only tackle welsh birds with big tits.
''Giggs is going to tear you apart'' Really?Giggs couldn't tear apart an injunction.

But KPR you and other dippers keep forgetting one major thing. You have to win matches to earn the right to play in the Champions League competition let alone the final. Keep trying. Maybe next season will be your season. No wait or the next.....or the next....... <laugh>

I don't really understand this arguement I'm afraid!
United weren't lucky they were the best side in the league this year and the second best side in Europe probably.
Barcelona are a great side with people in the media suggesting they are the best ever, it's no disgrace to be beaten by them!

Man United were the best side in England this year yes, but I reckon they were probably 3rd best side. Biased aside, I reckon Real Madrid would probably beat them although it'd be a tighter match than Barca - Man Utd.

To be quite honest, there's far too much spouting about Man Utd on these boards as of late. I know you mancs lost, and feel you have to justify yourselves to us but honestly.. we don't care. 90% of Liverpool fans care about Liverpool, the other 10% have a separate agenda of hating Utd as much as they love Liverpool. I prefer to look to my own team in order to be a wannabe manager and shout at the Television to tell the players and manager what they're doing wrong.

Whilst I take pleasure in Man Utd losing games and especially games that could lead to the eclipsing of our own title, it wouldn't be the same if you dropped down to mid table mediocrity like we did. I think that shows the gulf in class, whilst a majority of Liverpool fans stayed on the boards despite the horrible runs through Hodgson and we sat there listening to all sorts of gloating about our club. If it was the other way around, I doubt most of the Man Utd fans would stay, most of you would just stop watching football until you started to pick up again, the glory hunters would switch sides, but Liverpool is more than a club and only Liverpool fans understand that.

    2nd best side in Europe?
United had the easier side of the draw.
If United had met Real Madrid in the knock-out stages, they would never have got to the final.Real Madrid would have taken them apart.Real Madrid would have done to United what they did to Spurs.
Apart from Chelsea they played no decent team in the run up to the final. And that was a Chelsea team that had lost its way.
Marseille.Liverpool murdered them in France a few years back at their ground,4-0.
    Schalke?Tranmere would have beaten them.

Well, there were two Liverpools this season. That much is clear. So we're talking now about the new Liverpool, which is from Kenny taking over onwards. With those results we finished above you in the league. And that's under caretaker conditions. New manager who's been "out of the game too long" vs one who's been at Utd for centuries.

Do you need reminding of anything else while we're at it?

Anyway, dunno if we'd have won but I think we'd have kept more pressure on. Utd seemed to press high up for a short period at the start but didn't keep it up. It's the only way to unsettle Barca and how we beat them at the Nou.

Second best side in europe! course they are you can talk about hypotheticals like real madrid but whats to say they wouldn't have beaten them!
Barca gave Real far more of a run around when they stuck 5 past them earlier on in the year!
Rivalry is great but sometimes you've got to put your hands up and say yeah 20 years ago we said that you had to win 19 titles to surpass you- they did that
and in all due respect united are a far better side than spurs.

The season is 38 games long not 15!
But yes you have been better in the second half of the season but finished 6th!
United were the best side this year- you were the 6th best side and we were the 12th
Next year will be interesting but we have said that for a long time about liverpool. It'll be difficult to break the top four now

And there were two Liverpools this season. We only have those 15 games to judge the new Liverpool so based on the numbers the new Liverpool is better than this Utd. If you want to go back to other times then we're still better because we're in Europe's elite and you're not by your manager's own admission.

It may suit you to fantasise that Liverpool are still languishing under Roy Hodgson and time has stood still but the coffee is on and your alarm's about to go off.

I'm still convinced that United didn't met one decent side bar Chelsea in the run up to the final.Real Madrid would have given them a similar beating to the one Liverpool and Barcelona did.
United beat Liverpool twice, but they didn't give Liverpool a beating.the score-lines prove that.A 3-2 win and a dubious penalty when Dan Agger breathed on Barbawank proves that.Liverpool however did give United a beating. They not only beat them, they destroyed them.

    I'm a Newcastle fan!
Yes you've had a good second half to the season- but so did West Brom (Roy Hodgson's level i admit)
You're not in Europe's elite because you're not playing in the competitions. Yes History is great but the present is what matters!
Wait to see if Kenny does anything over a whole season before judging him!
Finally just out of curiosity- What are you're ambitions for next year? and how long does Kenny have to acheive these ambitions?
I.e. next year if you finish 5th 6 points from 4th does Kenny have to go?

Yeah thats fine but it's a hypothetical you can only beat what is put in front of you!
as for the dubious 3-2 win in all honesty they did dominate you for 60 mins but yes the penalty was lucky!
and yes you did beat them! But the season is not based on 1 game or 15 games its 38 and they amassed the most points therefore making them the best side!

If Man United met more sides that strangled the life out of their relatively poor midfield then they wouldn't have either won the league or even got to the final of the champions league. The league has far too many teams that roll over for them especially ones that are managed by players once managed by Ferguson or teams managed by Fat Sham.
