I think that Dai is spot on here! Wilfried is not worth 12 Million quid-He is worth far,far more! Also as he is only 24 years old his value will shoot up considerably. As for Huw not being happy with the price-you are having a giraffe Dai!
Bony had his best game for us yesterday and he is looking fitter than he has been in previous games, he was MOM for me on the night so credit to him, but that does not retract the fact that we paid £12 million for one player smashing our wage policy that a player at that price would command. the problem we now have is anyone else that joins the club plus key players will now want to be paid the same and that is a dodgy road to go down at this early stage of our development....we don't have the stadium for a start to warrant paying players wages of that caliber, We are running before we can walk and i know jinx is not happy about it, Last night's game proved that our short passing game is the catalyst to a winning team and its great that we have seen laudrup go back in the last two games to playing that way....credit to him for that as we look a different more confident team. I don't think playing against 10 men would have made much difference to the result as we were passing the ball short and accurate with the odd long ball if available up to bony or michu. You could see quite clearly this type of football suited us to a tee rather than the long passing we were doing towards the end of last season and the start of this season, Now more of the same against palace and it should produce 3pts in the bag...
Gendros, just to let you know your not speaking to the original 'Dai' this is the other poster that uses his account ! Still no admitting how good we were or about how good Sir Michaels team selection was , just pick pick pick !
I agree, last night showed we have the crappiest team EVER. Swansea suck be time. Without many of our best players we outplayed Valencia for 90 minuts in away game and won 3-0.
We didn't need to hit long balls last night , 10 v 11 means we could overload the middle & pass through them hence the 1 man advantage so if you're referring to Shelvy's long balls Ash has been doing it for years To progress whether you ,I or Hugh like it or not will mean better quality players who will cost .How much do you think a 35 goal player's value is ? Bony looked fitter because he is , his preseason training wasn't up to much so you'd expect him to show improvement in that area .
What matters is do Swansea stay inside the combined wage budget. If Jenkins have a combined wage budget on 60 % of the entire budget and he as chairman decides to waste 99 % of one player and 1 % on the rest it isn<t a problem. The problem is like what Valencia apperantly did is they spent more then their combined wage budget. Fx instead of keeping it within 60 % your wage budget start to climb up to 70-80-90 %. Then you have a problem. Swansea still have one of the very lowest wages in the entire league - even with Bony. You avoid angry teammates by getting player on loans, free transfers or cheap who come from smaller club and with small egos. The worst kind, are over-the-hill players with big egos. But as far as I know the all play in QPR - in the Championship. Swansea got Shelvey and Pablo from bigger club. But what I see they have very small egos.
Encrypted that means "I f***ed up big time. Bony is a good player after all - and I am bloated from eating too much humble pie"
Jokeren is right. Transfer fees are written off in the accounts as one off payments. Wages concern the club far more, and the wages we pay are sustainable. Well inside the 60% of turnover benchmark.
I am not sure how much of a big impact Bony's wages have on our combined wage limit as the stadium is supposed to be 27,000 for most of next season. That would be a about 40% extra match day revenue per home game?
You are 100% right there ffs. Theoriginaldaiswan hasnt been here for ages and the person we know as Daiswan is just a copycat. I however, am the true consciousness of Daiswan and can confirm you were all right and I, Daiswan, know nothing about football...FACT I bow to your superior intellect. You are true fans that hopefully I can become one day (when I give up on the 'pool)
