Call me ignorant or say that I have been living in a cave all mt life but apart from The Cure, Reeves & Mortimer, and Maria Callas.....I have never heard of any of the other people, bands, movies, books etc
I would suggest starting with the film, Richard E Grant's finest hour (probably Paul McGann's and Richard Griffiths' too for that matter).

The Mighty Boosh is a great shout! I really need to watch Withnail and I. I've only ever heard good things about it but I've just never gotten round to watching it.
Withnail and I is brilliant! Just goes to show, if I started this list again, I would have ten different answers! (Vic Reeves is an obnoxious twat, though)
1. Autobahn - Kraftwerk 2. Hail To The Thief - Radiohead 3. Arrested Development 4. Stewart Lee 5. 2001: A Space Odyssey 6. Ernst Friedrich Schumacher 7. Otis Redding 8. Radiohead 9. The Wasp Factory - Iain Banks 10. House Of Cards (US Version)
This character is new to me. Would you recommend that the books are read in order? Or does it make no difference?
Yes, read them in order, each one is a story in itself, but a major sub-plot is developed through out them all, as is the character of Odd.
This is a great list, Withnail & I is my #2 all time film and like so many I can pretty much rattle off the entire script by now! Charlie Chuck us a great call as well - Woof! Bark! Donkey! Any John Shuttleworth fans on here?
When I first saw Charlie Chuck many moons ago I was never quite sure if I should have been laughing at him, I always had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that he may have been genuinely insane and shouldn't have been put on stage... Comedy genius!
