http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-punish-Luis-Suarez-for-comments-to-the-media Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has promised to come down hard on Luis Suarez after recent comments from the striker. In an interview with the media in South America, Suarez admitted 'falling' during a match against Stoke in an attempt to earn a penalty. Rodgers has responded by describing simulation as "unacceptable" and revealed the club is poised to take action. "I think it is wrong. It is unacceptable. I have spoken to Luis and it will be dealt with internally," Rogers said. "I think it is wrong. It is unacceptable. I have spoken to Luis and it will be dealt with internally." Brendan Rodgers Quotes of the week "It is not something we advocate. Our ethics are correct." Suarez was handed an eight-match ban last season for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra. On that occasion the Anfield club showed support for the player, but the Uruguay international is likely to be punished on this occasion. In the extensive interview with Fox Sports Argentina the Liverpool forward repeated claims that he is treated differently by the media because of his South American background. He said: "I don't listen all the nonsense some people say about me. I'm accused of cheating here. People say I throw myself all the time inside the box. Rodgers defends Suarez . "They said that when we played against Stoke, for instance, and in that case they were right. I invented a foul because we were drawing and I wanted to win. "Sometimes on the pitch I say to myself, "What have I done?" But the name of Suarez sells papers." The Uruguayan was recently accused of deliberately handling the ball moments before his winning goal at non-league Mansfield in the FA Cup. But he said: "I touched the ball with my hand accidentally, and I was criticised because I kissed my hand. I say to the media: you should talk more about football, not about other stuff." ----------------------- Looks like Rodgers doesn't like it either! Silly Suarez.
That's the funniest thing I've heard in ages! So the clubs ethics are in the right place are they? They're going to come down hard on suarez for taking a little tumble which amounted to nothing, yet they are fully behind him when he racially abuses another player!! Priceless...... ;-)
In almost every game I've been too if I'm honest. The overly theatrical way in which he goes down is just embarrassing too. I like him but he needs to cut this stuff out.
Ashley Young is the disgrace....really f'ing hate the sight of him and was glad he had to hobble off at the weekend
How to cut out diving overnight, review videos of games and if someone is clearly seen to go down when there's no or minimum contact instant 10 game ban (no appeals), 2nd offence 20 game ban etc
Its sad that this could have been done ten years ago. I thought they were going to do it when they banned rivaldo. But incidents like banning barton and not the play acting Johnson positively encourages it. As does the risk - reward. A won game against a yellow card, players will take that chance every time.
Read this in The Sun today. When I came to the bold bit, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Of course its no surprise considering the journalist in question. Its the same Mr Custis who declared to the Nation that we were going to be docked 15 points and stripped of promotion in 2011. Fergie: Divers set kids such a bad example By NEIL CUSTIS Published: 18 hrs ago ALEX FERGUSON has hit out at divers in football. The Manchester United boss has always spoken out against that form of gamesmanship — even against his own players. Fergie said: “It impacts your players’ behaviour in terms of simulation and dissent. “You have to be a model for young people as we have to have a responsibility for the future of the game.” Fergie was talking at the LMA European Managers’ Forum at George’s Park where goal-line technology was also discussed. He said: “We want basic progress but we don’t want supporters waiting.”
What I find amazing is that it took Suarez to admit what was so blatant to everyone before Rodgers decides he will take action against him, is the man blind?...
Thats what I posted on their board, Rodgers isnt upset that he dived, he condones that by his silence unless he is backing him. He is upset that he has admitted he dives and Rodgers has no honour whatsoever and joins the likes of SAF and Wenger as the biggest and blindest arseholes in the game.
One of our own - poor old Dave Clement.
