    Not playing well?
He did nothing wrong and put in a couple of very good tackles, one just after Jonas' block and a couple of good clearances. Decent debut considering where he played and when he was brought on.

Love to know what he would have had to done, to have played well......

To befair, except for Krul nobody wearing a black and white shirt played well in the second half. Some were worse than others, but barely adequae is aboutthe highest standard that was reached

I think his point is just that it's a bit harsh on Mbiwa to say he didn't play well when he was brought on for about 10 mins and was played out of position.

But yeah, the whole second half performance was pretty atrocious... My mind had the absolute audacity to dream of 4/5/6-0 scorelines... I can't figure out what's said at half-time... If it's anything other than "more of the same please", Pardew is an idiot.

He had a Poor debut, when we judge by the normal standard we judge players, and not giving him any mitigating factors like it was his debut or not.
He had one great clearance, which I did praise in another thread, as it was a game-saving block any centreback would love to lay claim to.
However he was played in Midfield(for who knows what reason) and it's a fact that during the game he miscontroled some balls, wasn't able to make a pass or two but had to hoof his balls away most of the time. Can that be called a good debut? Of course not, when considering we're comparing his debut to Gouffran and Sissoko who rightly had better games than him.

Point is, I don't expect him to play well in midfield, and brought on to stem the tide and still played out of position. Play him at CB, that's what he would've been given the chance to do, and play well.
