True story....
A year or two after my son died in the 90s I was in a dark place and called the samaritans. I told the woman that answered about my son, and all the **** from it and she said "oh my god, I don't know how I would cope with all that" and she got upset...it got so surreal that ended up trying to make her feel better!
I hung up thinking at least I ain't as twatty as her

 

It's a mental health disorder. There's many ways this manifests itself and there's no such thing a one size fits all for ASD. Some things are common though.

Ironically being on the internet should mean he doesn't have to contend with interpreting the usual conventions of social interaction that people with ASD struggle to understand. I.e. when talking to someone - body language, facial expression etc. Now I'm not diagnosing Matth here but if I was to comment I'd say the problem is he can't visualise those social conventions either so everything he reads is very matter of fact and he seems unable to interpret or empathise with others. He has immediate anger issues which is his way of communicating. And when he does respond his level of communication is also very basic.

He may be a **** but I don't believe it's because of chosen behaviour tbh.

Years ago i did a thread on suicide of the Sunderland board, it was really deep also, and was amazing to read, the amount of people that have been through such things.. (this is not connected to your son btw, as i don't know, and i'm sad for the loss mate).

Death is a strange thing, as most know my best lifelong buddy is a senior paramedic, and he was telling me only the other day, he was working with a big brute of a scottish guy, but fairly new. And he'd not seen a dead body. Then within a week they had 3. Wake up call for him.

Some of the stories he tells me are horrific.

But it's a small world, as it was his mate who came the other week to attend stabby mc;****face downstairs, and probably saved his life.

 

He's on many social media sites, and they all end the same way.

No, it's definitely him. But if he is diagnosed with ASD, and without knowing the severity except the way he is on here and on his Youtube channel, I think that plays a significant part.

the problem with Matth behaviour on here is that we know he can moderate his behaviour with the right incentive i.e.
a)not starting hundreds of threads as BRB threatened to ban him
b) spoofing the swear filter a weird habit others have as well.

The insults thing though shows his ASD imo as the insults are very often basically the same as those he receives so when i first came across him he was constantly calling people mong or ****** . Comm calls him a cumguzzler and he will retort with you're the cocksucker etc.
**** knows why he wants to post on here tbh considering the response he gets but having said that it is probably much worse on twatter etc.
In other words **** knows mate .

His threads about his work, (despite telling us he's not posting about his private life) say it all.

Tbh with ASD when you discover something of interest it becomes very repetitive. This place and his Youtube and Twatter is clearly of interest to him. Take away his Twatter (one of his routines) and he struggles to deal with it and makes a thread about it. I think it probably is genuinely causing him distress.

 

Well that's a social problem.

But i don't really give a ****, he doesn't have the stress of everyone else daily life, what with paying bills, trying to make ends meet etc.

 

The social part is also caused by mental disorder.

And yeh, I don't give a fck either but only because I don't believe anything said on this forum will really affect him.
