Trundle is right up to a point. However, players earning vast wages shouldn't need too much motivation. The fear of being dropped, losing their place, etc.,should be enough incentive. Ivor's "thought" is a good one, since Trundle now has no loyalty to Laudrup.
Trunds loyalty is towards the club regardless of who is in charge/sacked managers and maybe more attention should be paid to his remarks.
I loved Lee Trundle as a player and I'm glad he has been looked after with a nice little job now he's retired but you know what..... I've met Trundle several times and in my opinion he's as thick as pig ****. Just my opinion mind. You might as well be telling me that I must fall in to line because Leighton James says it's the right thing to do. I'll continue to think for myself and make my own judgements thank-you.
The fallout looks set to continue into the summer but I hope we don't fall out anymore than we have already. I'm upset by all of this too, but I can see both sides of this coin. The prevalent feelings fall into a) loss - where it speaks volumes for Laudrup that some remain so upset with his departure after so long b) gain - where it speaks volumes for Monk that he has seamlessly and so ably stepped into his first managerial experience in any division and into Laudrup shoes. No one has any facts as to why this has happened and to gain any insight based on zero facts I look to our esteemed, recent past. The records of both parties are there to be seen by everyone and each record stands as facts. I don't know enough about Laudrup's past to comfortably comment but I know enough about ours to say that we do no sack our managers. Prior to Laudrup can any one say who the last manager to be sacked by Swansea was and how long ago. For our board to have sacked our manager when they did, all I can surmise is that they must have had a massive reason to do so, particularly as we backed him to that point. Something happened and only time will tell us what that was. But the fact is, and its the only fact we really know, what ever it was it made us do something completely unprecedented. It made us sack our manager, sack him at a terrible time, sack him risking our premiership survival. This decision was cool, calculated and decisive. It was made with the knowledge that relegation this year would lose us £m's due to next years massive new TV deals. All I can say is for our board and our chairman to have gone against everything we have ever been and sacked Laudrup, they must be very aware of some huge misdemeanor to have occurred. They reacted as they did. Laudrup has gone, Monk is here and we MUST survive in the prem this year, relegation is not an option. Them's the only facts I know. No other facts have bubbled up on either side but there is far too much hearsay, conjecture and silly name calling fermenting or clouding any debate at all. Good luck this arvo Vs Pallace, a win will cheer us all up. C'mon us Jacks
In this type of situation it is NOT wise to heed the words of someone loyal to the club because there is every chance of bias/self interest clouding judgement. This not to say that Trundle is wrong. We will only know when the full and true facts emerge. And I hope they do so we can all accept what really did happen and move on.
Well I'd loved to have heard the half time team talk because it must have been a beauty .Palace had to attack in the second half and I thought weather the storm for ten minutes or so and we'll kick on but ten minutes became 45+and they deserved the point at least but for poor decision making in front of goal along with some last ditch defending it could have been worse.
We had been defending a 1 goal lead for over 30 minutes of the second half, when Monk decides to commit suicide, and take off not only Bony but our Captain, and to send on bloody Lita of all players with Emnes sitting on the bench, it was nothing to do with 'Motivation' swanselona but massive stupidity from Monk with his substitution's , so stop trying to turn everything into the Laudrup out debate, he gone get over it for crying out loud, your getting a pain in the proverbial!....................
We had been under pressure from the first moment the second half started, we never looked like getting in the game, even before the subs. So partially disagree with you, but the subs were shocking, that I will agree with Phil And why would I get over it, yet quoting a post of yours, from TODAY that goes on about it lol, so does that mean your also getting a pain in the proverbial?
